Not GoDaddy, I hope. They lost my wife's DNS records and I had to play tech support guy for a day.

No. I host at Arvixe. They're OK, not great but for what I pay that's about all I can expect. Both domains I registered myself directly with the domain registrar.

Domain update finally went through successfully about 9pm local time. DNS propagation may take a few hours or even a day or two, so if you're still getting errors try again later.

I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland a few weeks ago. It was pretty neat to see the history of some bands and people. Large Rolling Stones exhibit there. Amazed to think how they've changed, from being Beatles-like in the 60s to where they are today.
Sounds like a good place to visit.
The Stones - and most people think they have always just sounded like the "Stones" 😀
Rodders...
HERESY.... the Stones were always grounded in the blues.
"Satisfaction" sounds nothing like "She Loves You (Yah Yah Yah)"
[/quote-2]
Nonsense! They wouldn't have understood the blues even if someone had sprayed them with it. They just liked loud uninteresting noises (sometimes discordant ones) with no decent lyrics to support them.
But you are dead right that "Satisfaction" sounds nothing like "She loves you". But of course saying that is about as useful as saying that "Little Red Rooster" doesn't sound much like "She's leaving home" and that's an equally reasonable comparison.
[/b]
Tom, as a native of Mississippi for 43 of my 58 years, I've heard my fair share of the blues in my lifetime, and my fair share of the Stones. so I must beg to differ. If you want more authoritative support for my statement, start here.
As for the rest of your comments, they simply amount to the fact that you don't like the Stones' music. That's your personal preference and you are certainly entitled to it. Some people don't like curling or haggis, or bagpipes. I personally like bagpipes but I'm sure many people find their sound to be loud, uninteresting, and discordant. As a great philosopher once said... It don't matter.
Best regards.
...and there we find the winter of our discontent,
The Rolling Stones are an English rock band

Gail, I see SQL Bits are dragging this out as long as they can, by offering little titbits, or seeing how quickly it takes for me to go completely bonkers - which to be fair isn't that far really... 😉
In other news Marillion have released the dates for next years three weekends (Netherlands, UK, Montreal). Only a year and a month away :w00t: Which for me is pretty big news. I actually got excited - sad really. For the rest of the Threadizans, not really big news - move along he he
Although if SQL events in North America tie in, I could finally go to the one in Montreal at the end of April.

SQL Bits sounds sooooo enticing. Really wondering if I should make a trek for it.

Bits is great and there was a post on their Facebook page hinting that a contract was sent back today.
I'd guess they'll announce something in the next week

There's a new developer conference in Belgium: Techorama (which replaces two conferences: the Community Day, an organization of all the user groups, and TechDays, a scaled down TechEd-like MS event). Anyway, I submitted some sessions, but unfortunately did not make the selection. The organization told me: "your sessions are great, but we could get some international speakers instead".
On an unrelated notice: Grant has been confirmed as a speaker on Techorama.
@Grant: you're on my list now...
no, seriously, I'll still try to get the event and it would be great to finally meet you

Going bonkers too. Company's hinted it would be great for me to speak there but haven't hinted what they'll do in return and I have a bad feeling the answer is going to be 'not much'

Gail,
A lot depends on where it is.
The committee like to do something different and did hint that the venue they had in mind was very different, also North of Watford, an hour from London have also been mentioned...
Jason, it's good fun, think smaller (1/5) than PASS but with themed evenings - Pub night with professional darts players, Robin Hood theme with fancy dress, casino night, Beatles tribute band when it was up in Liverpool (well you have to don't you!) etc, and Steve seems to really enjoy himself!
My only problem is if they stick with a May date then I'm probably going to be double booked! And I have my 8 in a row to defend. Although I know someone who has been to all 11! They are waiting for the date so they can then book their holiday. :-O
