Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Then I think it is official, the is the "Water Cooler" thread.

  • I grew up on Redneck. I can mostly understand it, but I can't really speak it much any more (except the occasional y'all that comes out every now & then).

You know both internet and SQL Server are international? On forums like these people visit from all over world.

Nah... really? I thought the internet was just the U.S. :D:P;):):hehe: Heh, no offense but just a bit obvious, Ron.

I know it was obvious, it was meant ironic.

Of course you can try to find your answer on a forum in your native language, but it's just that the best are in english.

Exactly... let's think about why that is and what I just said. 😉

The reason we've been able to do so many fascinating things successfully is because we all spoke the same language. Sure, we have groups of people that speak some other language, but everyone knew a common language here... that's no longer going to be the case... 1 "Tower of Babble" coming up...

It's not people are going to post in dutch or in spanish in the near future on this forum.

Actually, I have seen a couple of posts on this site that weren't in english. Not sure what language, but heck, its all "Greek" to me if it ain't english. Unfortunately, that's my ownly language.

  • Gail,

    Hoekom nie?

Attempted to use Google to translate this and all it would turn up was an Amazon page with the translation to Japanese.

I give up ? What is it in U.S. English

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Why not? I've seen one question in French. Not easy to answer.

I'll take care of the French questions if you get stuck.

Of course - if we all just spoke T-SQL - we'd all understand each other:)

  • Yeah, I'm not so sure about that one. I was helping someone from Spain and the Spanish column names made things more than a bit confusing.

With the french question, it wasn't so much the question. The OP translated into passable english on request. But the entire error log and error messages were in French too.

Of course - if we all just spoke T-SQL - we'd all understand each other:)

What would 'Thank you' be in T-SQL? :hehe:
