A bit of business to conduct
1. Thanks to Koen. Manning the support lines (SSC) while many of us were incognito. You had the best quip of the week (think missing backup thread).
2. Summit was good. It was nice to meet and talk to sooo many people. And yes that includes Rod, though I technically met him before Summit at SQLSaturday in Charleston leading up to Summit.

You haven't been around as much lately Jack. I am not far behind either. π

Jim Murphy (10/18/2013)
rodjkidd (10/18/2013)
As Jack said I finally tracked him down...All you had to do was look for a little hobbit running around under your legs. In all seriousness, Jack is awesome.
rodjkidd (10/18/2013)
Also as a bonus on the Bucket List, met Jim Murphy on the way to the NASCAR hall of fame. So that was cool. Nice guy as well! E aren't we all on this thread?Hey thanks man. You are quite cool yourself. Got me in a t-shirt pose for your wall of shame where you post other suckers willing to wear the shirt. You'll have to post a pic.
After walking up to Rod and company, they said "hey, I know you." I literally responded with "I doubt that." Hahahaha. What are the odds with so many people there since I just blindly walked up after seeing his First Timer flag so I tried to make this wandering stranger feel welcome? I just didn't recognize y'all.
"Do you post on The Thread?" Me: "I used too!"
That was pretty funny.
Back at work, jet lagged - so that's how that feels.
There is a SQLrelay facebook page with all the pictures of people wearing the shirt. But give me a day or 2 and I'll post them on the Thread. Just got to find them.
It's funny explaining the Thread to people who don't know about it, oh Jim yeah I know him from The Thread!
NASCAR was cool, pity I had to leave early to pack. Note to self next PASS stay a day or two after the Friday!

I don't have a backupSorry to hear that.
Let this be an incentive to implement a backup plan.
:hehe:
I know I know π
But when do most people adapt some best practices?
After they messed up (one time too many).
... hopefully still keeping their job.
Or hopefully not keeping it, depending on what "one time too many" means.
I don't have a problem with people screwing up. I do have a problem with people repeating the same screw-up multiple times, unless the screw-up is so trivial that it can do no harm, even when repeated continually (in which case, it isn't really a screw-up, is it?).
Tom I always make it a point to make a new and different mistake / screw up! π

Thanks, Koen, and thanks for the tip on the photo. I've finally caught up on the thread after PASS Summit and got a chance to change my Twitter photo.
Hey I met you as well on Friday afternoon sitting in the community area with Dan and Mitch - cool didn't make the connection!

Indeed - I forgot to say you were also on the "Bucket List" or Threadizens to meet!
I enjoyed Charleston, small compared some SQL Sats, but great bunch of people and a lot of first time SQL Sat attendees which is cool (wearing PASS member, supporter of SQL Saturday hat there)...

Hmm - sure it was me? I didn't spend much time in the Community Zone. Maybe at the Birds of a Feather luncheon at the Source Control table, though?
