The really sad part, he is probably working on an off-shore project for some sap company here in the US that thinks they have someone with a Masters degree working on their project. And someone here in the US with a real Masters degree can't find a job because of the off-shoring of work.
I dunno. I've seen plenty of US IS workers, at all levels, who were just filling seats. And those off-shoring contracts are usually big block/team deals. If he lost his job tomorrow, it wouldn't go to someone here, it would be filled by someone else from the same region, maybe competent, maybe not.

Yea, I know. I have one or two or three sitting in an office where I work. But their our *****s.
I guess I just couldn't believe how he just dissed my code and then couldn't understand why a value wouldn't fit in the declared variable? I mean really, that is something a freshman university student learns about, and that is without taking a Numerical Analysis class.
Just hit me wrong along with things going on here. As my supervisor in England said, tied my panties in a knot.
Curious how he may respond to my posts. I'm actually amazed Sergiy didn't light off also. I think he's mellowing out some.

As for how he keeps his job, there are two obvious possibilities: 1) Civil Service, and 2) Nepotism. These two work pretty much the same, to one degree or another, in almost every country.

Last I heard, he was working for an IT consultancy in the UK, having moved there from India.
From everything I've heard, I'm guessing that his Master's degree was done by coursework, not by dissertation. Odd thing is, I can't find any reference to a degree that has the abbreviation "MSA" which is what he has in his sig.
Maybe need to search more.

I'd have to do some searching, might be in that thread he started when he mentioned he wanted to get his PhD, that the M.C.A. is a Master in Computer Application.

Lynn, I may need to borrow a sand dune. Our man with the concurrency question still won't accept that SQL will handle his potential-double-insert fears, even after I posted the code that proves it. Now he argues that a "conditional INSERT" is somehow different from an INSERT?

throw him a pork chop, Bob!
I'm not sure what his problem is either. I think he's written a sh**ty application and now wants to overengineer the SQL code to back it up.

Child - "But Dad, that isn't how they taught us to do that at school!"
Dad - "Did I get the right answer?"
Child - "Yes, but that isn't how they taught us how to do it!"
And I even got told off once by my son's teacher for teaching him the wrong way to get the right answer
That's a good life lesson though, always tune your efforts to your teachers desired method. Gets you through school much easier.

Roy, Sorry if that was the implication, it wasn't. I was specifically talking about him. I have known some very sharp individuals from India myself at a previous employer. And, to be fair, I know some Americans I could put in the same boat as "him".

Sorry, should have included "CS-related degree from an Indian university", as out friend has indicated that he got the degree in India.
