I think maybe not 100%, but close. They've found that everytime an update is pushed out for this AV, Sharepoint starts having problems.
We are set up in a "farm" config, I think there's around 4 Sharepoint servers plus my SQL back-end server (which is exclusive to Sharepoint)
As for actually doing anything about this, well, I don't have any rights on the Sharepoint servers (Yay!,) and was requested to look into finding a way to disable the AV by one of our departments security guys, so I'm pretty well covered.

If AV is somewhat controlled by GPO, they should be able to put the machines in a group and manage them separately.
Like run a scan daily or weekly.
And some settings are likely overridden on the individual machine.
Better than creating a hack, especially since everyone would know what's going on.
Although you like everything to be the same, you always need to manage some exceptions.
I'm sure no one wants to have the servers end up being an expensive set of bricks.:-P

I thought SQL Server servers were already games machines - Whak-a-mole.

Man, they have an "appreciation day" for employees, and this place gets deader than the old Michigan Railroad station...
I'm almost tempted to start reading this topic from page 1 and see how far I can get...

Ahhh, I remember those days. My first large company had big BBQ outside parties 3 times a year and the whole building would empty in the afternoons.
Red Gate does monthly outings by department, and there are definitely crickets chirping some times in the office.
