BTW, is anyone going to SQLSaturday #243 in Cape Town? Gail is talking first thing in the morning.I am? That's news.
That's what the PASS site says?
No word by mail or otherwise...
Did you even know you were going?
Well, I put in a session, but no, I didn't know it had been accepted (still don't officially) and probably won't travel unless I'm speaking.

They did a movie too[/url] - wasn't too good, but I thought it was worth watching because I loved the series so much. The movie's good if you watch it with no assumptions that it has anything at all to do with the book, other than the name.
Just like the movie World War Z:
Great comic. Still want to see World War Z, but just because I'm a The Walking Dead fan (series and comics), so a zombie movie always scores with me.
But now I also want to read the book of course π
The WWZ movie was entertaining, but not like the book. The book was fanastic, IMHO. Read it on a flight across the country, and couldn't put it down.
My wife won't see the movie with me because she hates Brad Pitt (go figure), so I'll wait until it is on DVD.
I'll try to read the book when I've finished that giant stack of technical books that is still waiting for me. π

Has anyone else had issues with posting image links? I've used Postimg before and it's been simple but today I can't get it to work :-/

Check out the strap-line under the logo on the website as well. Comedy gold. Actually, I'm starting to wonder whether this is a joke by someone with too much time on their hands!

Reminds me of the 'cv service' junk mail I get from time to time, from Jessica something or other. The last one had a major typo in the introductory paragraph!

Joke or not, this part is funny (and true):
You can gather data concerning your customers and potential customers by exploitation forms and surveys. ... this is often an excellent tool for prospecting targeted customers trying to use your product and services.
Translation: You wanna steal your customer's data? Use us. We'll take advantage of them in no time flat.
EDIT: (additional Translation) Oh, and we're using our own methods to steal your data too.

*sigh*
My wife is either teasing me, or just an outright cruel, heartless, b**ch...
She brought up the possibility of trading in our older car ('06 Dodge Charger R/T) and getting something newer...
Then brought up the idea of trading it in, and getting the car I wanted when we last bought a new car, the Subura BRZ (nice little sporty job) I figured out, if we get close to the Kelley Blue Book estimated trade-in value, we'd be looking at only around a $160-170/mo car payment (plus our existing payment on the other car.)
Quite doable...
Now nobody's trying to talk me out of this...
Hmm, pay off bills faster (albeit not a lot faster) or a new "budget" mid-life crisis car?
August 8, 2013 at 9:03 am
Jason, the BRZ is hardly some "budget" car. I've seen it. The SO debated on getting one, then decided to go with the new model Impreza. Not just because of initial cost either. Because of continuing outlay of costs associated with the car (gas, uber-car-guy maintenance needs, local racer challenges).
If you're going to do the mid-life crisis, own up to it and get the BRZ without trying to fool yourself into thinking it's a budget car. @=)
August 8, 2013 at 9:27 am
Well, it's "budget" in comparison to a "typical" mid-life crisis car:
Corvette
Porsche
Ferrari...
π
Actually, the BRZ is about $3-4K less than what we paid for our Charger, and about $2k more than the Dart Limited we bought as a second car.

Dirty hippie!
Well, OK, that and the electric to my garage (detached) isn't working, so I'd either be running an extension cord from the house to the car, or something...

Go take a look at the Tesla. A more appropriate aspersion would be "NERD!" What an amazing agglomeration of technology.
