This week is the first SQL in the City of 2013. Anyone coming?

It slipped my attention that it was in London this week and it appears I've missed the boat. I've added myself to the waiting list just in case!

Got a confirmation email, so, yes, I'll be going. Looking forward to it!

Sadly can't make it this year.

    Hope it goes well Steve.

    Howard, enjoy!

    Cheers,

    Rodders...

    I will explain...

No, to explain will take too long. I will sum up.

    The Doctor is on first.

    The enemy's gate is down.

You'll have to sum up with the Inigo Montoya t-shirt

I still need to watch that movie start to end some day. Bought it just for that purpose.

How can you not have seen that movie start to end? Wait - do you have six fingers!?

Or maybe he's just a Scicilian trying to beat you in a game of wits?

You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line"! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...

I spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder.

Just a few more posts and Jason won't need to watch the movie after all!

    As you wish!

Why spend 1-1/2 to 2 hours watching a movie when you can do it this way?

    The Princess Bride

Read the book first. The book was wonderful. I was so excited to hear there was a movie version coming out and the movie version didn't ruin the book!

    there's a book too?

Yep, the movie was made from the book and for a change, it was done very well. The movie was great, but I do love the book.

The best parts about the book were the origin stories of Inigo and Fezzik. 🙂

  • Trying to find security authentication information for how SQL Server Agent runs jobs (manual vs scheduled). Assistance would greatly be appreciated as BOL seems to only have basic info that doesn't explain my problem and Google-Fu turns up articles only tangently related to the information I need.

I'm basically looking for an authentication map (A looks at B then at C, but D trumps E kind of thing) and not finding it. Do such things exist?

I agree; so does my daughter (7) who loved knowing more about those characters than her Mom (who loves the movie but never read the book).

I also thought the conceit that what we're getting is the "good parts" version of the S. Morganstern classic tale was well-played.

Plus, in the forward Goldman gives a shout out to one of my favorite restaurants in NYC: El Parador. I recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly upscale Mexican meal (with great margaritas, of course).

Ok Grant and Gail (others too if you know the answer)...

You guys have a "widget" on your blog that allows the display of certain icons or badges (e.g. MVP and MCM).

What is the tool? I would like to add something like that to my blog.

Giving this question one more shot...

Anybody have any recommendations for a plugin such as that?

Again, I didn't need a widget to do this. It's just setting up a link and including a picture or linking to a picture. Nothing special.

Sorry Grant - I missed your first response.

No plug in. Standard WordPress side bar item.

There's a side bar that allows you to enter any html, couple of <br>s and an <img> tag.

Thanks to both of you for that info - much appreciated.

    That thread is scary.

It's a bit like the SQL version of randomly picking your holiday. Stick a pin in the feature you are going to implement next.

It would appear that the answer to your last question is not so much "Yes" as "YES! And, hey, behold my Mighty Plan, which is almost certain to break things like a Very Large Enraged Bull in a China Shop!"

Trying to find security authentication information for how SQL Server Agent runs jobs (manual vs scheduled).

I don't recall seeing something like your A B C, but have seen some that get into the nuances you describe.

Manual runs under your context, while scheduled can run under a proxy or the ID the service is running under.

More detail of what you are running into would be helpful.

More detail added to my original post (linked above), but that's all the information I have.

Yeah. No good can come from that situation unless he confesses to his client that the problem requires a different skill set than what he brought to the table.
