Yep, still alive. Well, I think I am. ๐
I was away from the SQL world for a while and I'm glad to be back!

Thanks Wayne.
I was really away. I just started a new contract and I'm happy to be back in the SQL world. I did a search for something yesterday and SQL Server central came up in the search results. First thing I had to do was check if this thread was still active. ๐

Any activity on The Thread is an imagination of your figment and bears no relation to reality.
Plus all the posters here are zombies. The world came to an end while you were away. You just didn't notice.

The Matrix got rebooted?
Did anyone run DBCC_TimeWarp when it came back up? ๐

I would have been going to, but Brandie told me that Grant was about to have been going to, so I held off intending to do it.

Personally, my new laptop is 32gb ram, with multiple SSD drives (I have plans for presentations with many VMs running...). I'm still getting stuff installed on it, so I hope to start using it soon. What kind of laptop did you get that allows for multiple SSDs? I'd love to have something like that.
I have the Lenovo T431, pulled the DVD in place of a second drive, but honestly, an external USB3 SSD seems to work great for me.

I'm not sure I would sacrifice the DVD drive for an SSD. I guess it depends on whether or not I could get stuff on my portable USB drives that I would normally get on DVD.What kind of HP do you have, Gail? My new one is a Pavilion G4.
I understand and it depends on how you use things. I went to a MacBook Air 3 years ago. No DVD drive. Hadn't missed it, so when I got a new machine this spring I didn't bother with a DVD.

Ohhhh... Blink was the best episode ever. It's worth watching the whole series just for that one show, I laughed so hard. I actually had a rotating desktop background from the video monitor in "The Time of Angels", but took it off because I had to explain it to too many people.

patricio.honore (5/30/2013)
I would like to display x amount of views (50) as a report and display which views that have not been accessed and their fields.

Nope, but probably the same person posted a question over at AskSSC.

Is that the entire PM? Was your response "Well, go ahead then!"

Yes, that was the entire PM, and no that wasn't my response. My response was that I am not an employee of SSC, that I wasn't going to assist based on a PM, and if I was there wasn't enough information to even help.
And this was his response:
patricio.honore (5/30/2013)
sorry, I am new to this forum. Thanks for responding. Here's what I am trying to accomplish. I have a number of views table and I want to display these views in one views (views withing a views) then show a column when last accessed.
To which I said, find an appropriate forum on SSC and post your question there, and I'm not assisting from a PM.

I just delete that kind of thing outright, long with the 'Answer my posted question', 'explain life, the universe and everything to me' and other such PMs.

I am with you Lynn, I tend to push these people to use the forums. I have had some people ask for my email so they can contact me directly. I typically respond to those and tell them they need to pay my rates before I would even consider such an endeavor.
I don't like to just ignore those folks but I am certainly not willing to take on a charity case by myself.

Actually, that was done after the original PM and prior to my response to that email.
