Hotel booked for SQLBits. Almost forgot all about that so a nice refreshing 20 minute walk in the morning!I'm in Castle Marina Premier Inn, which according to Google maps is 2.6 miles away by car or a 45 minute walk 😛
I'm at the Hilton brand hotel somewhere nearby.
Cool. Steve are you about for the whole event or just the Friday?
Chris, Grant and Cadavre are you all about for the 3 days or not?
Rodders...
Thur night to Sat afternoon. Heading to London Sat night, but not sure of the time. Will have to check train schedules.
Should arrive Thur around 6 or so.
No idea of what I have scheduled.

Anyone have experience with Dynamics AX 2009 and using stored procedures with it instead of the cursor-ridden DAX "language"?

That is all.

This really makes one want to help, doesn't it.
Dunno, but it really looks like he was dumped into getting this job done.

Yes, but what happens when it breaks or needs to be modified? Right back here expecting us to fix it. Least he is honest about not being strong on the coding side, but I just can't get motivated to help when he wants the code. I mean really, what good are ideas if you can't translate them into code.

Well, I've stepped in and told him he can't use EVENTDATA() in a DML trigger. I don't know why no-one else told hime that before.

Drive by answer. In a hurry I confused DML with DDL.

Then this is a place you ignore the post, move on.
I think this is the type of person I want to help learn things. I don't want to give them every answer, but help them investigate a bit.

I think it a pity that no-one mentioned his fundamental mistake. I wouldn't write the code for him, but I don't see any good reason not to tell why the approach he has taken stands no chance at all of working. Nor for not telling him what the appropriate functions to use for his purpose in a DML trigger are.

Didn't even cross my mind. I knew the value had to be NULL I just didn't think about WHY it was NULL.
--EDIT--
Got bitten by the quote bug, but you still get the idea.
