Hey, that's a cool feature! Hadn't seen that before.I guess it's a good thing that I didn't ask you how to get to it 🙂 Oh wait... I did:w00t:
Well, as Paul said, it is intuitive. I mean, look, you got 3 answers within 6 minutes of posting your question. 😉
Well, since even Steve didn't know this. Maybe these 3 persons have been the only...
Maybe something like a simple textbox and a "Go" button should work also. The current "feature" seems more like a easter-egg
Actually, it's a geek thing. Who actually takes the time to read the documentation any way? 😉
....reminds me of a Dennis the Menace cartoon panel from years ago. Five-year old Dennis is opening a boxed toy of some sort and tells his four-year old pal Joey "Don't read the instructions. They'll just slow you down."

Now lemme quote Paul:Very intuitive
😛
Hey, maybe I'm just too old school. If it doesn't have an underline or change to a hand when I mouse over it, chances are I may never notice it.

I never knew about it until today when the question was asked. I started playing around with the thread navigation buttons and I found it. Not that hard to find as it works like every other javascript hyperlink in that section...

Okay, same here. Read the questions, figured it out, posted an answer. The force was with us!

So, denizens of The Thread, when do you think we'll hit 4,000 posts? You never know, but it just takes the right question or comment to spawn about six pages worth of responses.
Let's try one.
Did anyone else hear that J.G. Ballard died? Another SF author has gone away. I loved Crash, Concrete Island, High Rise, Empire of the Sun (but not the stinky Spielberg film)... some of his other stuff.
Crash inspired Grace Jones' song Warm Leatherette. I thought Cronenberg was the perfect director to make the movie of it, but I thought his effort failed pretty badly.
I heard about his death. I loved Crash and the Atrocity Exhibition. I also read the REsearch books that featured his interviews and short fiction. In my Science Fiction class in college, Ballard was one of my prof's favorites. I think Terminal Beach was the first story of his that I read.
I actually liked the Cronenberg film, but then I'm biased, as I like pretty much all of his films, Videodrome most of all.
I will admit though that the film is deficient in instrument binnacle references...

Nah. The first, and only, rule for being an expert is you have to know one more thing than the other guy.
Lots of "experts" who seem to operate on a rule that might be stated: An expert is someone who can use keywords for the subject.

Hey, could Gail or anyone else who knows about FileGroup backup and restore issues please comment on the OP's question in this thread? What he is saying feels really wrong and dangerous to me, but I cannot be 100% sure.
Thanks,

Lesson learned by newbie "helper"....
So I guess I've learned a lesson tonight. Just got home and saw an email notice of Jeff posting a reply to a thread I'd chimed in on (http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic707264-8-1.aspx) and found that because I'd done more of the OP's job than I should have, building test data and so on, Jeff ended up apparently thinking I was the originator.
My reply was intended as much for the guy who started the thread more than for Jeff. So, lesson learned was to insist on the OP clarifying problem and providing clear examples. Help him learn and keep the focus on his particular problem. Make it plain that while people want to help, if you post a problem, you are expected to materially participate in its solution.

Maybe... but after it happened, I spent several minutes examining every link on the page, trying to find out how it happened. Note that the url that appears in the browser status bar for that link is the same url as what appears on the link to the last page. I didn't actually click it, since I know what clicking on the last page one does. To top it all off, I thought that I hadn't actually clicked anything when it popped up. I was beginning to think it was a response to some sort of rapid mouse movement....
But, it sorta makes me feel somewhat better that Steve (and others) didn't know about it either.
And hey... look how much closer we are to 4000 now. I wouldn't have expected this question to generate so many responses (24... and counting)!
