What to make of this?May not be what I was thinking. Good.

How do you suddenly discover that you're a DBA?
it's like puberty. you feel weird for a while, then all of the sudden you want to JOIN everything together. it's an instinct.

So I'm reading up on column level encryption and msdn says Simple = X steps, With authenticator = Y steps.
Microsoft technet says Simple = Y steps, authenticator = X steps.
I think technet has the right code with the right description.
And nowhere does anyone define what the "authenticator" is or why you might want to use it.
Microsoft needs more editors.

Welcome to Books Online. I personally love the sections that are completely, blatantly wrong.

I'll be honest, at first it felt like he was trying to go around the DBA to get something he was not necessarily allowed to have. That was why I started pushing back a bit.

Don't most DBAs do that? Surely teh majority of DBAs are accidental DBAs?
No, not all.

Welcome to Books Online. I personally love the sections that are completely, blatantly wrong.
I prefer the sections that mix wrong and right, especially the ones that directly contradict themselves. They are much more amusing.
What frustrates me is that MS rarely correct them, even when the errors are pointed out. That, and that community content is sometimes worse than the original.

Of course not all. Only somewhere between 70% and 99.5%. 😉

Or intentionally leaves it as a "won't fix" much as the case with many Connect items.

Anyone thinking of going to see the popcorn movie that is "GIJoe: Retaliation"?
I'm debating between waiting until tomorrow, or going to see it tonight on my own, then tomorrow with the wife...
Yes, I'm a nut.
Last weekend, we did "Olympus has fallen" then "The Croods" the next day...

I will be seeing it as well, but with my daughter. Something about Channing Tatum if I remember.

Well he is the reason for the huge delays in the movie release - something about the girls IIRC.
