  • I'm going to SQL Saturday in Omaha, NE. But I'm afraid that and the Jax (and probably Orlando) events are the only SQL Server related events I'll be able to afford.

I'm presenting on Saturday. I'll be there on Friday. Steve is presenting on Friday (he made the big cut, I could only get into the Community Day). See you there! I'm really excited about making my first SQL Bits.

Cool Grant, it will be good to see you over here again. Oh they have given you the early morning slot. Nice... I was room monitor during that slot for Mark Stacey. Remember stitting there with a bad, bad hangover, just hoping I didn't throw up πŸ™‚

God I hope not. I have to be at the front of the room presenting.

Personally I find LMGTFY to be incredibly condescending, I'd feel quite insulted if someone gave me that kind of reply. I'll do the search for people if I don't think they are, but what I post is the link to the google search results.

Agree. I've never used LMGTFY and hope that I'll retain enough sense never to use it in the future. We can help people, we can teach people, but our teaching will fail if we insult them.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

One could argue LMGTFY teaches them how to use Google πŸ˜€

I've just recovered from paying for SQLPass, so won't be at this year's SQLBits. And having bought almost all of the recording I have enough material to keep me busy for a while.

I couldn't help noticing though that the schedule was finally announced after the deadline for the 'Early Bird' prices. Not impressed.

Dave - that and the bag packing, putting up the displays etc on the Wednesday night... Oh did I mention the bag packing??? :w00t:

Grant - then you would have to change from scarydba to, um, I don't even want to think about it!

I suspect it would be quite scary for those near the front of the room...
