For my next SQL Saturdays blog post, I'm coming up with a list of acronyms & definitions for accidental / rookie DBAs.
Anyone have any suggestions for me to add?

All the SSxS (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SSMS).
SSDT and BIDS.
CDC (change data capture)

dbo

These are the first that pop into my head.

How about:
PITA
CYA
WTF
OMG
I don't know why those were the first to pop into my head. :w00t:
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.
Need to UNPIVOT? Why not CROSS APPLY VALUES instead?[/url]

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

How about PICNIC as we used to use when I worked on a helpdesk - Problem In Chair - Not In Computer

GHU shouldn't be left out, even if included only to advise people not to use it in the wrong company.
