Thanks to "El" Jerry, Jason, Lynn, Paul, Stefan, Gianluca, Bex, Grant, Brandie, Greg, Kiara, Revenant, Sean, Craig, Rodders, Dwain, Ray, Jeff, Jack, Wayne, Jan, and Gus for prayers and/or sympathy. Hope I haven't missed anyone.Ann and I and our three boys spent several days with Nikki before she became unable to communicate, and stayed with her until the end. She was only 44 years old when she died.
Today is the first time I've felt up to looking at email, or at SQLServerCentral, or in fact doing anything that doesn't relate in some way to Nikki. Slowly but surely becoming reconciled to the idea that I've outlived her, instead of her outliving me.
Glad you got to spend some time with her. So sorry for your loss. There are no words. A parent losing their child is probably the most heart wrenching thing a person can endure. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts.
Sean is right - the words are so hard to find. Even more so with the suddeness.
So sorry for your loss.

Tom,
My most sincere and deepest sympathy. I have no words that will comfort you. Be sure she knew how much you (her parents and brothers) loved her and she still has all that love with her.

You have been in my thoughts as well, Tom. I lost my year old nephew a couple of months ago and his family was devastated. It was good that you could spend time with her before she was gone. I pray that you and your family will be comforted in your hours of need.

Tom, I've very sad to hear this. I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that you and your family were able to be there with Nikki until the end.

Grant,
Good to see you are still communicating fairly normally! I guess 6 sessions in two at SQL in the City just wasn't enough to push you over the edge. 😀
It was a really good event, and it was good chatting to "The DB A Team" Friday evening...
As the Scary one I guess you are B.A.
From what I heard about Brad out and about sightseeing in London he must be Face.
So that leaves Steve to be... Oh wait there were four in the A Team... :hehe:
Also saw the announcement today that there will be no SQLBits XI this year. Hopefully it will mean it give the team a break and make the event even better in 2013.

No, no, no, I get to be the crazy guy. The one they constantly had to rescue from the insane asylum. Much more comfortable with that comparison. Steve is the handsome guy & Brad is what's his name, Breakfast at Tiffany's guy. George Peppard.
Anyway, it was a great event. Thanks for attending and for hanging out talking. All the people you get to talk to at these events are what makes them special.

Lynn you beat me to it! They will just have to hire someone new to fill the B.A. position.
Grant, I did think about you and Murdock but I was just too nice (or scared!) to say it...
I was fifty fifty on Steve and Brad, Apparently Brad was a hit with the young ladies when being taken on a tour around London with the Allens! Hence I went the way I did... But yeah lets face it (pun intended) with that smile (in the pictures) Steve is Face!

I watched the TV series when it first aired. I enjoyed it, especially Murdock.
