Heartiest of congratulations Gail!
Where's the party?
We could do it in Bangkok if you wanna come over. π
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.

Great news! Congratulations!
Well, you didn't need a certification to prove your skills, but sure it won't hurt.
Great job! Well done!

Steve, I apologize for my latest rant to Mr Celko. I have tried to restrain myself since you asked me to, but I just had to respond today. Had to do something as my blood pressure went up another 20 points.LOL, relax. Just stop reading his posts.
Easier said than done. Espcially when it is a thread you are following (helping or lurking out of interest).
Just once, I'd like to see him actually post something that is actually helpful and without him going off on his standards only tirade. I know he is smart and all that, but ..... arrrrggggg.
OMG! A compliment from CELKO!
