Are the posted questions getting worse?

The pizza was not so good - but hey.

I had too much info to cover in 1hr15. I will be trimming it back somewhere. I have some ideas on that too, as well as some ideas to speed it up in case trimming back causes the flow (of presentation) to get out of whack.

In the end - I think people learned and that was the goal.

Good to hear. We had pizza in Denver, and it's pizza. I think it's fine because the goal it to train people. So I'd rather see smaller budgets that allow for more events.

Seems like every event I've been to lately is going to 60 minute sessions, which are tough. I like 75 better.

60 would have been way too short in my opinion.

There is some good pizza in Boston. I have had pizza before at others and it's fine. Something went wrong with this pizza though (at least the slices I got ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

Overall though - the event was good and that is what matters most.

Last year, there was one that was doing 45 minute sessions. And... none of the speakers were prepared for that short of a time period. There was a lot of good material getting whacked to fit that schedule.

  • On the flip side, I think I will attend the Rhode Island SQL Saturday. That means I will miss the NH SQLSat (sorry Jack) and attend the Salt Lake City SQL Sat (hey, they are very persuasive with saving me on travel).:-D

Yes. SQLSaturday Wellington was my first experience of 60 minute sessions, and although I finished on-time*, it was definitely too short.

    * for me

I've submitted to speak there (my son lives an hour away).

Is "there" RI, NH or UT?

No way I could cover my stuff in 45 minutes.

I learned yesterday that my session about columnstore indexes on the Belgian community day is only 45 minutes. That's gonna be tight...

In Boston now getting ready for SQL Sat 142.

If you are close by, come check us out.

How did it go? I had a great, if tiring, weekend with the Scouts, but I'm sorry I missed this event.

I'd also like to know. I'd planned to attend, but last minute work kept me away.

I was there also. Both my sessions went well.

It wasn't the smoothest event I've attended, but the sessions were good. According to the check-in folks it was closer to 200 total in attendance although there wasn't probably more than 150 there at one time as a lot of people came late or left early.

Then obviously you are misusing DBCC Timewarp(). You are hereby forbidden to use this piece of code ever again.

I have no idea what the OP meant, but maybe my questions will help him explain himself.

a quick remote run of DBCC Timewarp showed that 'future' should have read 'feature' (using the best guess flag)

Maybe if you throw in compression too?

๐Ÿ˜‰ seemed funnier when I first thought of it.

EDIT: Got bit by the quote bug. Made the joke even less funny.
