Current QOD status. I have them scheduled through May 9, plus a few random days out past that, but I also have 16 submitted right now that I'll go through tomorrow or Monday.

And articles, how far forward are things scheduled?

Ugh, I have 18 approved, 10+ to edit and I'm scheduled through May 4 right now. I may end up doubling up some shorter ones, but likely I'm scheduled through all of May now.

Ah, just wondering because mine is still listed as 'accepted, not scheduled'

    ROFLMAO!

    Definition of Clueless.

But do not fear, he will solve his problem.

at least on most of his other posts i could some what understand what the problem was. this one. Wha??

If a boolean (bit) is 1, another parameter gets a '+' in front.

But this is what he said:

if i select true the other parameter value should include + infront fo fit.if i select no ,it should be same

If true should include '+'. If no it should be same. Does that mean it should also have a '+'?

No. It should remain the same, ie unchanged.

Ohhhh! Can I send you my crystal ball so you can fix it?

Sure. My cats need a new toy. The chips and scratches don't interfere too much.

Isn't all that dependent on the future release of a past version of DBCC TimeWarp?

im trying to code around DBCC TimeWarp by relying on the MysticForce .NET Library. of course relying on .NET might be my downfall here.

It surely will be. MysticForce.NET only works with .NET Framework 6 or higher, and you can't obtain that yet without using DBCC TimeWarp to install it. Once installed .NET Framework 6 wants to phone home regularly, and since its home doesn't yet exist that will require regular use of DBCC TimeWarp to manage the networking. Of course that home can't handle this archaic IP v4 stuff, so your platform will have to support IP v6, but that's not important; the crunch is that you are stuck with using DBCC TimeWarp if you want to use MysticForce.NET before .NET Framework 6 is released. You might be able to use ReTime.NET instead, if you install .NET Framework 7 instead of 6, but the ReTime class has an API besides which the complexity of DBCC TimeWarp pales into insignificance.

well i guess im off to talk to doc brown and get the newest copy of DBCC TimeWarp. i hear he really upgraded the flux in the capacitors for next years release.

  • Maybe someone at the water cooler can help me with something perplexing. Steve posted the following earlier:

Anyone want to tackle a semi-complex reporting / accounting issue?

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1290025-1291-1.aspx#bm1290373

My question is how to wrap his name and posting date into the quote like I see so many others doing. Obviously I figured out the quote tag but not this variant.

    BTW Steve, I'm on it.

My mantra: No loops! No CURSORs! No RBAR! Hoo-uh![/I]

My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?

    My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.

Need to UNPIVOT? Why not CROSS APPLY VALUES instead?[/url]

use the following code just take the spaces out:

    [ quote ][ b ]dwain.c (4/26/2012)[ /b ][ hr ]body of quote [ /quote ]
