Are the posted questions getting worse?

    And I'm out.

Oh well, you can't say I didn't try.

Well, we could say it, but we would be lying... 😉

I had to show him one thing, but coming from me he will probably ignore it completely.

I will refrain from further comments (if my won't power holds), but I have to see if his comments get anymore obscure and incomprehensible. It is actually starting to be funny in that train wreck kind of way. Just can't look away.

Watching the train wreck occur is cool. Just don't grease the skids for it. It looks like it's going to crack up just fine all it's own.

I'm nervous that we're getting to be a little too "StackOverflow" about everything. "If you don't ask the question just so we'll badger you." Those guys (and I think they're all guys unlike our reigning Grand Mistress) are really unkind about the whole thing. It's a concerted effort to create a culture of jerks to anyone who doesn't ask the question just right all as an effort to capture more Search Engine hits because they have a perfect answer for every perfect question. BLLLLAAARRRRFFF!

Let's keep it light & helpful & fun. Even with the jerks.

I think that is why Steve has asked us to only ask once or twice for more info and if not forthcoming to leave the thread.

We have to ask at times, since some of the questions are so vague it is difficult to even start to give an answer. Sort of like this train wreak. If we had the information we requested, we probably could have helped solve the problem without having to use a cursor.

Some people just don't want to help us help them I guess. They expect miracles over the web.

No arguments. Our friend in the last thread is absolutely burning bridges.

meh - that train wreck isn't even fun to look at anymore. Move along, unsubscribe and be content.

  • I'm getting a smile this morning just from hearing about a train wreck in the distance. They are much more fun when you don't actually have to watch them. Schadenfreude is your best entertainment value.

I sometimes wonder if these guys who can't or won't be helped turn around and badmouth SSC after they've frustrated you all to pieces.

Well, the current train wreak likes to get on as many different tracks as possible. I am beginning to wonder if he is even able to keep track of what answers are to what questions on which thread. He just keeps fragmenting his quest for answers and has yet to post a coherent question that anyone could even answer.

Not trying to help. Just pointed others to where more code could be found, and suggested to conductor engineer that he stay on one track.

Not offering any help what so ever.

This is very true. And if you had the willpower to just ignore him the posts will stop and he con go irritate people somewhere else. 😉

I was correct, though, he did totally ignore what I told him in that one thread about how after the first time through the loop he was skipping most of his code since the variables used in the if condition were no longer null.

Which is really the answer he needs in his latest thread.

Just wondering, did he actually ever pose a question? If yes, I missed it in all his threads.

Yes, you just have to read between the lines.

He wants his code fixed, he doesn't want to do any real work, and expects miracles from others who know nothing about what he is trying to accomplish.

Unfortunately, for most of us, our crystal balls are broken or the force is just not strong enough to see the future.
