With "the one", do you think it time to tell him the following?

    1. Get out a blank piece of paper.

    2. Put your name and today's date at the top.

    3. At the bottom, sign your name.

    4. In between the lines written above write, I Quit.

    5. Give this to your boss.

LOL those instruction might be too clear to be understood by the subject.

IMHO - you guys should walk away from that one.

To be honest, I think anyone involved in that one should walk away. Problem is, once we do, what if he suddenly has an ephany and actually posts useful and vital information that could actually help us help him?

We keep on watching (being subscribed to the topic costs us nothing) and if he does that we jump in and do our best to help him; if he doesn't we ignore anything he posts there (oK, it costs us reading any useless junk he posts and evaluating it - I'm prepeared to do that unless/until he posts too much of it).

Come back and prod it with an 11 foot pole?

A barge pole (see wikipedia "setting pole" ranges up to about 15 ft; so if you wouldn't want to tocu it with a barge pole it's a 16 ft pole you will need, not an 11 ft pole.

"10 foot pole" is an effete Ameicanism, produced by those who insist on punting with a much shorter stick that we use on the Isis and the Cherwell - although the pernicious colonial influence is getting too intense even in Oxford these days, I've even seen Yale men using 10 ft poles at Magdalen bridge. :hehe::w00t::hehe:

  • The "Mr I don't have a clue" thread is starting to resemble a pile-on. Maybe better to just ignore him or at most one post from one person when he posts another vague question...

The "Mr I don't have a clue" thread? I don't think he has any clues at all. I'm done and walking away. I know, The Saint? Walking away? It is time for a party at the TitD.

  • Any one have a picture of Porky the Pig telling everyone to move along, nothing to see here? That would be a good post to end that thread on.

  • Okay, now we really need that Porky the Pig picture with him say move along, nothing to see here. The OP is "closing the thread". Like he was ever going to give us what we needed to really help him.

That would work, but I think having him say "nothing to see here, move along" fits that thread better.

  • ON TOPIC: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1285488-392-1.aspx

The OP needs some help on weird date time conversions when trying to get DDL and Sample data together. Looks like a local setting on his SQL server instance but other than that im not sure where to go.

It was tempting to join the pile-on, but a little voice kept whispering "Save yourself. Save your sanity. Just walk away."

And now is trying to hijack other threads to get his answers. If he would just take the time to give us all the information we need to help him, we would.
