Both printers here are acting up. One doesn't want to inject ink on the the paper. The other keeps sending offline messages to the computers.

Today is a day I am tempted to throw one of them off the roof.

Don't throw it off the roof.

Launch it with a pigeon launcher and shoot it.

    Repeat

Pretty big pigeon launcher! Or just a very small printer?

You don't need a pigeon launcher. Enough surgical tubing will put just about any printer very nearly into LEO. And who knows, maybe Archimedes needs a printer for the blueprints for his lever?

I'm getting very frustrated (and very saddened) by the (apparently) increasing number of people who seem to feel that writing T-SQL is about throwing code segments together at random apparently believing that some odd combination of clauses will work and not checking in the documentation to see what the syntax permits when their random combination of fragments of multiple commands doesn't work.

    Am I alone here?

Not only TSQL, but SSIS gets it's fair share.

Today I had to explain someone how to create a precedence constraint. You know, click on a box and drag the arrow to another box.

I've been sick the last few days so I know I'm a bit cranky, but even last week I found myself getting a bit frustrated with some of the feeling of entitlement, or even lack of listening/responding. I know I'm not a published author or anything like that so my name won't carry weight, but I'd expect responses and discussions based on the value of what I've offered. I'm not always right, either, but meh, I try.

However, I've found myself lurking more lately as I read through threads and decide that besides not wanting to waste my time, the patterns are already forming based on previous attempts to help other similar posters and I just don't want to bang my head on the wall, either. There's still good newbies/posters out there, but they're starting to get lost to me in the swell of ... welll... lazy entitled morons. I don't check most of the threads anymore, and anything marked "Urgent" gets an immediate pass if not created by someone I'm familiar with on the boards. I'll check some longer discussions not for the original poster but for the discussion that usually happens from others after, hoping to learn something new.

24 hours of lurking? BAH! I say a week. If you're going to make a point, make a point.

Don't worry about it. I'm a published author and people don't listen to me either. Nor should they. Instead, they should listen and then verify what i said to be true. But they don't do that either. You're not alone.

I don't believe you. When you write a book, then you can tell me how to read an execution plan.

It is so obvious this is a troll. Just ignore his posts. He has created a number of threads lately and they are all the same. Vague with no supporting info. The responses don't even give an indication that they are actually trying to solve a problem.

Just a feeling. Vagueish questions, little response to replies...

Not saying there's a problem, but might be worth watching for trends.

I hate it when that happens. Had a couple cases where google turned up a blog post that I'd completely forgotten that I had written

I hadn't forgotten about this article. I just googled instead and it was at the top of the list.

I was looking to hit the msdn reference direct (but my article had it linked). I should have just gone to my blog first.

    It's all gravy
