Here's an interesting link on the topic:

    http://www.searchenginehistory.com/

My preferred search engine back in the day was Altavista.

I liked Altavista a lot at the time. Then it turned to "pornavista" and I switched to Google. πŸ™‚

No, seriously! It was impossible to have search results without porn sites within.

I didn't try, but I'm sure that searching for "particle accelerators" would have returned at least two porn sites on the first page.

I think it depends on what you are searching for really. I use both Bing and Google. I haven't really seen anything weird in my searches on Bing.

    :hehe:

    What is "google"?

The working counterpart of Bing. πŸ˜›

    What is Bing? :hehe:

And the best two answers are... (drum roll, please)

He was a crooner back in the 30s through the 60s. Very popular, made a lot of movies too.

Thank you for playing, and come back next week when we ask the ever-unanswerable question "What is the #sqlconspiracy?"

It was only a matter of time before those rules reappeared here.

So, since Google is the counterpart of Bing, and Bing is Mr. Crosby, does that mean Bing Crosby uses Google maps when he's on the road to Zanzibar?

Has anyone heard from Barry lately?

No, and it's funny you should ask about him because I was thinking of asking the same thing.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Barry is now the president of his company. (:w00t:!)

I don't think he's got much time to spend on the forums now...

No he simply followed Dorothy Lamour,

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

It is actually rather entertaining at this point how dense a person can be.

  • Can I have some too?

50 posts (or more) trying to explain index fragmentation. http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1202104-1550-1.aspx Maybe I was assuming basic knowledge that doesn't exist...

And if finally went full circle with the OP finding and posting an explanation that he found somewhere that matched what I'd said in first reply and several more times throughout.
