Wow, this is educational. Chinese is my favorite, don't get me wong.
What happened is this: at the restaurant, they came around with carts of food, asking if you wanted some of this, that, or the other. 'Trouble is, their English wasn't understandable, so we were just guessing. I was thinking it must be Teriyaki chicken, but it was not to be... :w00t:

Sounds like Dim Sum?
I'm allergic to shellfish, so I've never tried Dim Sum on the off chance that I'll get shrimp.

That's Japanese! Entirely different cuisine 🙂
I've had good pigs trotters before in France. Not much meat on them, but tasty.

Curses! I always get Japanese and Chinese backwards. So I'd better say that Chinese/Japanese is my favorite.
Stefan, good point - it must have been Dim Sum. 'Learned something else there.
I wish I could cook Chinese (or Japanese!), but we have an electric oven and I'm told that you really need gas to get the Wok hot enough.

You should be able to cook Japanese food just fine.
As for heat from a stove, if you have the LED top style, it gets hotter than gas. I've had food prepared in a wok on an old-fashioned coil-top stove as well. Give it a try!

I cook Japanese, Chinese and Thai on an electric stove, no problem. Just let the ring heat up before you start cooking

Good, since you and Stefan seem to think it will do fine, I'll get a Wok and try it. (I have the old coil-type stove.)
For now, the French onion soup bowls I ordered just came in today. 'Can't properly cook that dish without bowls that can go under the broiler to melt the cheese.

People crack me up. Someone posts a link to a report, and misstates what the report found (extrapolating a specific finding to the general). When I point out that they were misleading folks, and the report actually finds the opposite for the general situation, they claim I am challenging the study.

I suspect that marketing takes advantage of our scanning words rather than reading them. In my inbox just now, I saw an ad that says in huge letters "50% OFF!" and just before that, in small print, is the tiny, but powerful, little phrase "up to."

I had that problem with Cheeze-Its yesterday. It says Made with 100% Real Cheese on the front, but when you look at the ingredients, the first thing is wheat.
