Mark - it looks like the OP is still evolving the requirement. Let's see...

Compared to that guy you are perfect model of tact and good manners and politeness - there's just no time I have ever seen a post from you that was so crassly insulting to anyone as some of the stuff I've seen from him.edit: Is olc leam litreachadh deòradh sasunnach (I detest this alien English spelling).
I'm loathe to change that opinion of me but as a single example I was abusing every one of Celko's posts at one point, and I'm not always a model citizen. I believe a few months ago I was foaming at the mouth to verbally abuse someone here. *shrugs* Luckily some folks here see enough value in me to simply PM me when I'm getting out of hand and smack me upside the back of the head before it gets out of control. 😎
Thank you for the compliment, though. It's nice to see it's mostly working. 🙂
So, on another note... Anyone's team still in the playoffs for American Football?
Packers! Wooo! :w00t:
Broncos!
That would be a good game, a Broncos v Packers rematch in the Super Bowl.
I think it'll end up Packers - Ravens.
And I have to hope no-one around here sees me say that 'cause I live near Boston. 😛
You have been caught. I have to agree that the Ravens are likely to be the AFC representative. Although they have some bad losses so you can't be sure. That's the thing about the Pats, they don't have any good wins, but they only have one bad loss (to the Bills) and that was all because of turnovers.
I think the Packers peaked early and I think any of the teams left in the NFC could beat them.
The only team that I'd be shocked to see in the Super Bowl would be the Broncos. They have a good defense, but I don' t think they have a consistent enough offense to win 2 more games against the teams left in the AFC.

What's the general feeling about asking Steve to remove that "Question for the Experts" thread? +1 vote here.
Arguments are welcome, but it is highly unlikely. As much as I don't necessarily agree with the debate, I'm not sure it's worth removing. Feel free to ignore or stop posting.

At least I don't have to worry about Favre throwing an int in overtime any more. 🙂

Fair enough. I quite like Brandie's suggestion to lock it though
Let me show my ignorance, what is the difference?
If lock it means that it is visable but unable to post to it any more then my vote would be for this.

I can forgive you since the Packers are an NFC team and not from NY. You need to be rooting for the Pats in the AFC though
Perfect game Pats/Packers - I could go for either as a winner. Packers fan all my life, Pats for the past 20 years or so.

As long as it's not the Pats, I'm good. Just don't like them.
I am hoping Broncos-49ers, but I suspect we will get Ravens v Pack/Saints.

Houston? They're a decent team, but Yates, no Williams, I'd be shocked if they were to win 2 games. Probably as shocked as I'd be if the Broncos won 2 more :w00t:

I think they are still a bit more well-rounded. They are almost as good at rushing as Denver and have a better passing attack at least with the better receiving core. Defenses are about even with Houston being statistically better. It'll be interesting to say the least because you can really make an argument for and against every team in each conference.
Overall I think the best bets would New Orleans/Green Bay and Baltimore.

I don't personally think it's worth removing. I'm sure that others, without a similar approach to getting help, have wondered the same question from time to time if they mostly lurk. There's been a few cases of "Jump the Newbie" (I'm not innocent in that) here and there that I'm sure less forward lurkers have wondered the same thing.
Leave it there is my vote, and don't lock it. There's nothing in that thread other than the original poster I'd be concerned about and it's a valid discussion.

I'd rather he didn't. It may have some ugliness in it, but it performs a few potentially useful functions. Mainly, any group will have explicit and implicit Code of Conduct and Acceptable Behavior rules. That thread shows where some of the boundaries are (and aren't) in this group.
Also, to really eliminate it, we'd have to delete The Thread as well, because it's cross contaminated thoroughly. A lot of recent posts here would be completely non-sequitur without what's there.

Looks to me like an extremely complex problem that has been mistaken for a simple one. I've jumped in, but think the requirement still needs clarifying.
