Here I go asking for opinions againDoes anyone know about configuring your sql server on a SAN? Or have opinions about the best place to put the files?
Yes, but I'm about to head to a meeting. Bleargh. Too much to say too little time.

I must be crazy, I haven't lost track of the thread and I'm pretty sure I know the story Gus is talking about! I think I played Getzalif the bum who was the narrator for that show. That might have been the play "Whatzit You hitz me with today?!" though. I've done a few.Pork Chops: Get Jeff to tell the story, he started the insanity on that one! Short and slightly inaccurate version: Picture a desire for a wrist slingshot and frozen porkchop over dinner with an idiot.
Asterix comics. Very popular in Europe. I've only ever met one other American (outside my family) who had even heard of them. Absolutely hillarious!
I love Asterix. I have been buying the comics in English and French while trying to expose my kids to them. Sadly, I think somebody stole one of my french editions (previous employer).

Everyone has an opinion on that, and they're all different.
One thing I'll say here, spec and design for required IOPS, not required size. (chapter 2 of Jonathan's 'Troubleshooting SQL Server' is all about the IO subsystem. Download and have a look over it)

That's ok, there's no rush. : -) Thanks!

Depends on where he wears the hat and if it's a 10 gallon.
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.
