Slick - definitely moving up higher on the list of software to use.

It's a 130 MB download, an ISO of a bootable CD. I've got a CD with it burned on and I have it on my 'toolkit' flash drive.

Just watch the versions, there have been a couple with nasty bugs (the first version I tried using left the destination drive unusable). Version 1.2.6 is the one I have, the newest should be fine too (my problems were 5 months ago)

I was cursing a printer a couple years ago, maybe 5, and checking settings, looking for drivers, etc. After 30 min, my wife asked me if I'd checked the cable.

    RS-232 loose.

    :w00t:

Back in my pre-SQL days, when I was the power user of a previous employer. Doing everything I could to learn the ropes and convinced everyone I was a better go-to then the regional help desk.

I get a call because a printer won't work. So I go over and ask what changed. "Nothing." So I do all the usual checks. Print cable, power cable, power is on. Run a test print, thing won't print. "Oh, wait," they say. "We changed the ink cartridges this morning."

So I pull out the cartridges and guess what the end user forgot to take off?

  • Congrats on the anniversary, Gus. And on finally remembering to take a vacation.

  • My wife and I are celebrating our 21st anniversary today. As part of that, I'm taking next week off of work (my third vacation since 1988), and probably won't be around SSC much during that either.

    CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH

I have to admit, I too laugh at some of the posts Ron ends with that sig. I've thought of suggesting a change in sequence in the sig, but I've refrained because of the entertainment value.

  • Congratz Gus. I think I'd go mad doing anything for 21 years, but I'm under the understanding that it's very pleasant with the right person. Go you! :w00t:

Yep. He's gone. Oh ... unless you mean like "not here" as opposed to "not mentally present" ... but then, "not here" doesn't really apply to an online forum does it .... now I'm just confusing myself even more than usual ....

On the cert, you have to get your LOL Thesis accepted by a board of other people who have already earned that cert. Kind of like a PhD, but it's a much tougher crowd.
