Are the posted questions getting worse?

I think it's fool proof already. Just try to follow along!

And I doubt this will ever get by on track. We're off the tracks and out of sight of them, heading deeper into the woods with every post.

Hey, I'll try to get back on track.

The original post isn't bad but the OP won't try anything or accept any answers: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic618263-146-1.aspx. Maybe one of you guys has the answer they want.

  • Looks like you told him what he could do, not what he wants. Looks like he needs the proverbial 2 x 4 to understand that he can't trace the past, but can setup an audit process that will assist him going forward.

Why not. I've only had one twit so far this week. I don't have the answer he wants, but I think I have the only one he's going to get.

First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

  • Well, call me a softy, but I gave him something to work with. Hope it takes the comments to heart and takes the time to provide us with more in the future.

He'll never take it to heart because he's an arrogant sot... I wish you resisted helping him. Oh sure... he'll thank you because he got his problem solved... but he learns nothing about his arrogant ways.

  • Just to be sure... you're a heck of a better man than me, Lynn... I looked at your posts and you were quite the gentleman in explaining the facts of life as well as solving his problem.

Me... I was loading up on the pork chops.... I just have no such tolerance for arrogance. 😉

  • Well, it was either this, or watch a recorded episode of Ghost Hunters for th umpteenth time while waiting for my middle daughter to call me to come pick her up from a high school basketball game.

Plus, you never know until he posts again. If it is as arrogant as the last, then it is his loss and I'll be the one to tell him (if I see the post).

You learn a lot of self-control when you officiate youth soccer. Actually, I'd say that about any sport.

Keep the pork chop launcher handy, you may still get the chance to use it!

Funny... I thought I was exercising control by not ripping off his head and pooping in his neck. 😛

Yes, that is self-control. However, out on the soccer pitch, I not only have to keep from doing that at times, but must also deal directly with that individual. Out there, you can't just walk away.

  • Soooooo.... no pooping... no walking away... don'cha ever get constipated? 😛

  • Nooooo. I do all my venting after the game is over and I am away from the pitch and the offending individuals. Other refs are good to have around as they understand and help with the venting process.
