If you haven't seen it, his 2005 Stanford Commencement. Excellent talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1R-jKKp3NA&feature=player_embedded#!A sad day, and a reminder that I'm getting older as well. People I admire, know, love, are slowly dying. Remember that. You're dying too. Enjoy this life, and do something you love while you can.
Crap, you're just getting there? When Joey Ramone died was the day I suddenly felt old. Still haven't quite recovered.
It isn't right that all the Ramones are dead, but all the Rolling Stones are alive.

The funny thing is they all probably know several of his songs. If not, then I will be next in line to commence with the beatings. π

I'm just wondering because musicians usually cite The Beatles as the most influential rock band and The Ramones as the second most influential.

Whoa, slow down there hoss... we're not comparing Joey Ramone to John Lennon. Ick! The Ramones were gods astride the earth, Lennon was in some band named after an insect.

Time to start the education. Quintessential Ramones. But my own preference is for this.

It isn't right that all the Ramones are dead, but all the Rolling Stones are alive.
All the original Ramones are not dead. Tommy (the original drummer) is still alive and well. There are several other non original members still alive.
