Are the posted questions getting worse?

we want do right and I ask today about this completely from my lawyer

and If your think was true I delete SCC data or data that have problem from my site

but before this I want to ask all say to me when we want collect best article in a collection , are you don't want broadcast your best article with your data and users can use it ?

What I am saying is remove my content from your site. Your request to post my articles is too little too late. Anyone can find the original article with a simple search on google, yahoo, or bing. I don't need it to be on your site for others to find them and use them.

And by the way, this is regardless of what your lawyer may say.

Yeah it's great fun and really adds to the atmosphere and experience. I'm going to the South Africa vs Australia quarter final game this weekend. I'll look to grab a good photo of some Springbok supporters!

All I can think of when seeing this picture is the Star Trek episode from the original series with Frank Gorshan as the guest star.

One black on the left side, the other black on the right side.

Never even thought of it and I grew up with the original series.

    Cool!

I'm not that much of a rugby fan. I support the team out of national pride.

Legally you can't say "I'll publish it until someone tells me to stop." It works entirely the opposite way. "I'll publish once I get permission to."

Let's take the emotion out of it. You're simply in the wrong here. Your intentions may have been good, but they've lead you into error. The best approach is to undo what you've done & learn how to build up a web site and traffic the right way. The people on this thread are extremely helpful. You can post some honest questions and you'll get honest answers, but you'd be surprised at how sensitive everyone gets about their intellectual property.

By republishing my article, in it's entirety, without my permission or even acknowledgement of who the author is? Absolutely not. I will NOT condone plagiarism or copyright violations of my work in any manner.

Now, if you want to grab some of the headlines to tease your readers (say like the first 1-2 sentences), prominently mention who the (original) author is, and then provide a link to the entire article at it's original, published location, then I'd be fine with that.

You know, authors on this web site actually get PAID for their articles. Now, if you want to start paying me, I have two rates.

Obtain permission ahead of time: cheap.

    Don't: $10,000USD / hour.

    Your choice.

(BTW, it looks like you're planning to lift my The OVER Clause enhancements in SQL Server code named “Denali”, CTP3[/url] article (based upon the URL http://www.codevc.com/1039_The_OVER_Clause_enhancements_in_SQL_Server_code_named_Denali_CTP3.aspx and that a search on your site shows a blub identical to my article). If you do so, an invoice will be in the mail.)

Actually... No! I publish my info on the websites that I want to have the info. They're my articles and I'll be the one to decide who can publish/republish them or not. No one has the right to republish anyone's work in whole or in part anywhere. It's a form of theft. There are copyright laws that most of these sites reserve full rights to along with the authors that publish them on these sites.

I suppose we should be honored that you chose to steal from us for the reasons you've given... but we're not. In our culture (most of ours, anyway), only a thief takes something that is not theirs without asking even if they are needy. Shall you be known as a thief in our culture and to all whom we know (and, as you can see... word does spread rapidly) or shall you be considered a respected member of this fine, worldwide community of hard-working and honest men and women?

Respect the copyright laws of our countries and respect us all as humans... ask before you republish anything of ours. We'd do the same for you.

And, yes, we want to share knowledge and you can help. Instead of stealing our work, give a commentary of your own and post the link to our original works.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Well, my two articles are off codevc.com. Now I just need to keep an eye on the two blogs on blogspot.com to make sure those come down.

Does this mean I have moved up in the world now that I have been plagiarized/copyright violated?

You had, but now that they're gone you've fallen back down again.

  • I have been victimized from the start. My very first article was copied the day it was published on ssc, here:

Plagiarized, this person is even taking credit for the article!

Get this, I wrote and submitted this article in less than two hours after reading a debate on one of the forums on ssc. No rewrites, Steve accepted it as is. I was actually surprised.

Looks like the only change he made was to the title. Everything else in the article is word for word from my article.
