Are the posted questions getting worse?

    Hello

codevc.com is a code collection website and he collect best and true way in programming and IT

    ...

You know, the very first thing this person should post is:

    DO NOT PLAGIARIZE ANY CONTENT!

There are several articles this person (you?) could reference that deal with plagiarism and how to properly react.

"true way in programming" and "plagiarize/steel whatever you can" are contradictory from my point of view.

  • To say that codevc is sketchy is a gross understatement. They blatantly steal others work and repost it. They even have some of the stairways articles. http://codevc.com/1054_A_Stairway_to_Transaction_Log_Management_in_SQL_Server_Level_1_Transaction_Log_Overview.aspx

Maybe you can change your domain name to "plagairize.r.us". I have never seen such blatant disregard for other people's work.

The codevc one is harder. Someone has to track the registry down, hit the hoster up. Don't have time, but feel free to report him to the book publishers.

I do not have to worry about my stuff being stolen. No one in his right mind would want to do that... 😀

I wouldn't say that... your articles are pretty good.

Some of my articles are there but they have linked it back to the original article in SSC. I do not know if they have permission from SSC but at least they link it back directly.

It is your work, you still hold the copyright. If they didn't ask you for permission, it is a violation of copyright.

Do you have my permission to reproduce my articles on your site? NO! That makes your collecting a violation of copyright.

Better yet, do you have permission from every author of every article you have "collected" and posted on your site. If the answer is no (which it is in my case) you have an even bigger copyright problem on your hands.

The mention of spamming was due to you repeating the purpose of your site.

Your site is not Mirroring. It is plagiarizing the work of others. Here is the definition http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/plagiarism.

If this was legitimate you would make it obvious that the work is a collection and not your own. Your link would look something more like this: "Reposted by permission from ... "

As it is right now the link to the "source" is buried amid a bunch of links to other articles. If you wanted to do this above board you would create a bunch of links to other people's work and not host it on your own site. You would host a link to their work.

    Two thoughts:

    1. If credit is given, it's not plagiarism.

    2. If they don't have your permission, it is a copyright violation.

Now, if they were to use the first sentence and link back to your article for the rest, then I see that as okay.

No, spamming is what you're doing on this thread. Stealing (copyright violation) is what you're doing by 'collecting' people's work.

Can you copy the news from the New York Times and post it on your site? Can you copy a book from a library and post it on your site? Same goes for other people's work. If you want to reproduce copyrighted information, you must get the original author's permission. Simple legal rules (feel free to ask a lawyer).

Search engines aren't trying to present my work as their own. Looking at your site it is not obvious that I am the original author of the work, your link to the original work is buried and ambiguous. And most importantly, you DO NOT have my permission to republish my work on your site.
