Thats nasty. One item every 30 Sec? Damn that is inhuman.
Johan, thx for the feedback. I think I will add SQL Plans as a session as well. The SQL Saturday is filled with BI tracks. So it is better to add more DBA tracks as well.

Say, anyone here know how to admin Sharepoint? Things like changing permissions to the calendar and stuff like that?People are asking me but I don't have a clue. <insert jokes here>
The last time I checked, Sharepoint administration requires performing the right ritual sacrifices under the new moon, and the initiation rites for becoming a Sharepoint admin are the reason they all have white hair and an aversion to chocolate.

That is 19th century standard practice, it seems barbaric now because unions and the New Deal did away with it and Americans got used to being treated more like human beings. If Unions continue to fade away and the New Deal continues to be dismantled, we can expect much more of this.

I see it as a version of Genovese Syndrome/Bystander Syndrome. (Look up "Kitty Genovese" if you don't know what that is.)
There's an assumption on "the Right" that "the people involved will do something about it"; there's an assumption on "the Left" that "the government should pass a law about it"; it's all Bystander Syndrome, those are just two manifestations of it.
It's not new. Man's inhumanity to Man has been a problem forever and then some.
There's a lot of work needed to fix it, and too few trying to do so.

Good thing NFL players don't work for Amazon. If they think the NFL is akin to slavery...

Yes because the owners didn't want to dole out more cash to the players.

What a terrible situation to be in - let me be in their shoes for a couple of months. I think I can manage to complain about how much I make then too.:hehe:

Based on a long history of reading about muck-raking journalism and its aftermath going all the way back to Sinclair Lewis... I'll bet solid money things are not as much a Dickensian Sweatshop as this article makes it out to be.

Wouldn't take that bet. Too likely to be right. At the same time, "not as much" isn't "is not". There'll be enough truth in it, but it will also be twisted towards an agenda.

Absolutely. And the workers and the company should make changes occur (not the government, please) and likely will. But, I'll pass on a note to Amazon to suggest they improve this & link the article. Even small actions will help when there's enough of them.

Ya. The article makes it look like you have to walk 120 times / hour between bins. I think it's a safe bet to assume that the pick list are likely optimized a little to avoid walking way too much for nothing. Most likely walk here, pick up 10 copies of the book, then 5 more in the bin next to it or something like that.
Working in 100 degree is hard, but I've seen people do it. Take breaks, drink plenty of fluids and you should be fine. The thing is, is this hapenning 24 / 7 / 365? I really doubt that.
Working a couple miles a day. YES PLEASE, where can I sign up?
The guy can't read. Get glasses and then try to remember where stuff is. It'll get better at some point.
