Woohoo. Attended my first SQL Saturday and spoke there as well. Was as nervous as <fill in your favorite joke here>, since the topic they accepted wasn't my strongest suit, but I did ok and they decided to let me keep the "I'm a speaker" shirt after all. They put me in the largest room, but it didn't fill up and there were a few friendly faces in the audience. The event went great, except Jason wasn't there to harass :-P.
Congrats Chad.
Well, now that you've spoken, has the presenting bug bit you? Are you about to become the next SQLSaturday frequent flyer?

It would be awesome to meet you guys in person, the trouble being that you live quite a few dollars... er... miles away. I was impressed with the number of people that traveled either to speak or attend (Florida, Texas, Washington, Colorado) and the sacrifice of both personal time and resources to participate. My sacrifice was notably less than theirs and I was humbled. What I need to do is find a SQL Saturday in a location my whole family can afford to visit. I have to admit - I already went out to the SQLSat site to take a peek at what was scheduled and where it had been in the past.

Thank you all for the congratulations! Part of what got me to do it was hearing about all your experiences at SQL Saturday and speaking to users groups (er.. user groups.... users group... ah, oh whatever!). You have been a great example to me.
Thanks,
Chad

So, for a different topic... Go Jets!
Jets? What are you, nuts? Are you thinking like Knute Rockne? Nobody does a flying wedge anymore! You should be using "three yards and a cloud of dust", that's the accepted wisdom!

The Jets loaded up with players recently.
They now have two former Pittsburgh 1st round draft picks as their starting Wide Receivers.
