Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Jack,

Sorry to hear about your father.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your father.

    Regards.

Side note, my dad (nearly 80) fell last night and broke his hip. Needs surgery. I'd appreciate prayers as his health is not good to begin with.

I'm really sorry to hear that; getting old certainly isn't easy. 🙁

  • Best wishes for your father, Jack. I know how you feel. I have close relatives who trip just by looking at a corner and are breaking all sorts of things (on themselves).

Guys, I could really use some double-checking here. I think I've found a Visual Studio / SSIS bug but would appreciate confirmation.

The latest deal is near the end of the thread.

  • What's up with bug finding these days?

Sounds almost like a treasure hunt :w00t:.

I've missed 24HoP due to work not liking streaming (I really need a telecommute job) and other responsibilities last night.

I believe I'll be seeing Grant on Monday night. At least that's the plan.

Side note, my dad (nearly 80) fell last night and broke his hip. Needs surgery. I'd appreciate prayers as his health is not good to begin with.

Sorry to hear. We'll certainly keep you both in our prayers.

All the sessions were recorded, they'll be up on the PASS website in a few weeks.

    That's great news Gail!

I'm sure that you'll lose me five seconds into it, but I'll do my best to follow the material.

Mine wasn't particularly deep. I don't know how deep Grant went with his, but I think the most technical parts of our precon are the first two sections - Grant on the query optimiser, me on the plan cache structure, and neither of those were put up for 24hop.

    Mine wasn't terribly deep either.

No yours was just solid basics. Lots of great stuff. I loved to see how you approached things. Learned a lot even if it was "basic".

Thanks! This one is supposed to be the basics of reading a plan, so I guess I hit it. That's perfect.

  • This Gentleman is looking for some ETL best practices and didn't quite get what I was trying to tell him. Perhaps another voice may be able to assist him better.
