Are the posted questions getting worse?

It's not a big deal, and he has a bit of a point. None of the answers is well written, as noted by Hugo.

Leave it alone. The more he gets responses, the more he posts.

That's right it's not a big deal. He also get's more points from the QOD thread than the question itself, but he is hell-bent on getting his points back for the question too frequently.

It's just too wound up for the QOD imho.

Strangely enough I've had 5 great ideas for QOTD lately and somehow I never seem to find time to post them :hehe:.

I wish I could just add an answer => @SanDroid : Click here for points.

Any way you can arrange that Steve? ๐Ÿ˜€

I think you should submit a question that has "It Depends" as an answer. But that choice should be wrong.:-D

I've actually done that in my last QOTD. Wasn't really popular :-D.

Hm. I'm a DBA - for the SQL side of our company. And a developer. And the application administrator for our ERP system. And I "own" a collection of servers, and ...

So what do you do for the other 4 days of the week? ๐Ÿ˜‰ :hehe:

ROFL! You mean my second day job - the whole full time parent thing? :w00t:

Sadly, my dojo time is what had to go. I've promised myself when the NoLongerSoSmallPerson is out of high school, I get to go back. And start over. ๐Ÿ™‚

What kind of martial arts do you study? You might want to bring the NoLongerSoSmallPerson to lessons of his/her own. I studied Ishunru Karate and Judo for years starting at around 10 (my brother started at 8) and it was one of the best things I did in my childhood.

And if that means you get to go too, so much the better.

Primarily Aikido, with Shaolin Kempo and Tai Chi (the martial arts variety) for good measure.

I've tried to get him interested in just about any of the martial arts - it's really just not his thing. Wish it were - both because it would be good for him, and because I'd get back into the dojo. There are signs that may be changing, so we'll see.

Good luck! I've always liked Aikido, though I only had the opportunity to study it a little, and I've been thinking about getting into Tai Chi as a stretching/relaxation thing.

I know the feeling. My dojo time has been sacrificed to the university. When that bloody thing is done, we'll see.

Talking about narrow minded... will he every shut up?

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/FindPost1165423.aspx

I'm confused. What's wrong with the answer to the question?

It's SanDroid whining again. Probably a preposition out of place or something equally pedantic.

Not in this case - not even the most pedantic person in the world could claim there's anything wrong. The question is what's a timestamp. The answer is that it's a version mark on a row (unique within a database) - I don't know whether that was the original answer or a corrected version, but certainly if it was a correction it was done long before SanDroid's comment (which was made today, and which he has now followed up with a rather nasty slur on Remi and Steve).

He also appears to claim that BoL is wrong when it says timestamps are "automatically generated, unique binary numbers within a database. timestamp is generally used as a mechanism for version-stamping table rows" but I think that's just his inability to handle English (whether hs's misinterpreting BoL or just expressing himself badly I don't know).

Which is the correct color sequence of the average rainbow:

    A) GBIVROY

    B) ROYGBIV

    C) DBCXY2

    D) There is no sequence to an average rainbow

    E) It depends. What is an average rainbow?

Not really (not mainly), but apparently that's the first thing that pops in my mind when getting around to posting more qotd.

I know you liked it so that counts for a lot ;-).

I was right there with ya untill Steve pointed out that the choice of answers was not really all that great. The final explaination is fine tho... which is where I got hung up too.

Anyhow, I guess this is waht he had coming after all those complaints about minute <not too importante> details.

What about the wrong definitions of the colors we have now?
