If you love synchronicities you'll love the humor in this one!http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1158766-391-1.aspx
But which is crazier there - the locking hint or the tortuous where clause (getting rid of all those pointless IsNull operations and the ludicrous case statement would give the otimiser a chance to do something with that where clause; with the current awful thing, there's no way the optimiser stands a chance).
Yes, there's synchronicity - the OP name fits both the hint and the where clause very well.
SqlMaverick uses nolock with a nuclear warning on the thread emoticon.
'nuff said π
But was the nuclear warning for the hint or the where clause or maybe for both?
You could make a strong case for both. However I always preffer slow data to wrong data... or nuked connection! :alien:

I'm published again! "Tales We'll Tell Tomorrow" is the final chapter in the Shadowrun Street Legends sourcebook. It's a novelette this time and my editor loved my fight scene.
Congrats, and hope it sells well!
Once again I feel like I've let too much time go without writing a book π

Forever it won't dominate your destiny. Life there is after the dark side.I was going to wait until tomorrow night, but it is close enough.
I am resigning my position with Honeywell. I will be giving my two weeks notice tomorrow.
I have accepted a contract position through TEKSystems at Progressive Insurance here in Colorado Springs.
Congrats!

Hey guys, want a free little toy from Red Gate? It's called Tab Magic and remembers what tabs you had open when you close SSMS. Kinda cool. A product of the down tools week experimentation they allow at the company. Check it out.Oh, and there's a competition going on between a couple of teams... guess which one I'm backing.
Looking at it real quick, and I think that app has real merit.

...Lynn, I'm very glad that you are moving back. I know you've been a bit unhappy there (what with being so close to the Dark Side and all). Seriously, I'm glad you're getting back to something that you like a lot better. Hopefully, this will mean that you will be out here on SSC a bit more also!
Thank you Wayne, and I enjoyed your presentation tonight as well.
You know that code for concatenating strings, that was what I could not remember for the life of me when I was up interviewing for a position with Microsoft. Think you can send me that code snippet so I can put it on a flash drive for future reference?
Maybe Wayne could start that blog of his and post it there too?
Seriously, a flash drive just doesn't seem like enough sometimes for all of the scripts.

I have 2 that Red Gate wants me to write, which I keep delaying. I have ideas for fiction, and maybe when I grow up I'll get to be like Brandie. π

Is anyone here working with, or struggling to
- work in a complex development environment that does automated builds at high volumes (> 1x day)
- handle complex continuous development or refactoring of databases
- cloud development or deployment with databases
Red Gate looking to learn more about complex processes and pain points. We have a wandering developer that would like to visit a few places in the US over the next few months.

Steve think you should add a third title. "How I Manage My Time to do all the Chores I want/have to do" Might be considered less of a book and more of a instruction manual by some.

Lol. I think I could co-author that, if I had time....
