Are the posted questions getting worse?

Anyone want to 'help' out here? http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1155386-391-1.aspx

p.s. if you go to his blog, several posts have pieces copy-paste from a Microsoft webpage, no attribution

Yeah - I actually recently wrote about that[/url].

About Activity Monitor and Profiler? Not seeing connection here...

    Edit: NM, I see now.

I found a good couple couple of copy-paste of text from Books Online, sometimes small bits, other times the entire post.

I wrote that because of a script he blogged about without attribution. The script was direct from activity monitor. He left a comment on that post because I had linked back to his post pointing out that script.

I fully expect a new edit to be added to this post after I complete this one.

I didn't delve too deep into that blog after finding that activity monitor correlation. I "assumed" there was probably more of that going on.

It was hit "I see that on expert's blogs. Why shouldn't I have it?" that got me.

I loved your post about "are you in the top 250" after laying out what you have done in the past 12 months.

Threw a hat into the ring, hopefully as politely as I could and still make the point.

I was leaving it to you mostly because I don't have an MVP and don't know what-all goes into it, nor really do I personally ever expect to chase down doing that much work for the community in general. If it happens, cool, but I just don't see me sporting the title.

However, yeah... I do wonder if he thought it was like a certification though.

He's copy/pasted my name in the quote and still can't get it right. I don't have high hopes.

    I'm officially out.

I'll never, ever be an employee again.

I'll punch my timecard for the last time in 1 minute.

Congratulations and I wish you nothing but success. If you ever run into a problem that you need help with (no likely from what I've seen over the years 🙂 ), you know where to come to for help. As Mr. Red Green would say, "We're all in this together and I'm pullin' for ya."

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

I re-popped it for y'all. Hopefully this is a perspective he can understand cristal-clear :w00t:.

Added a comment. hopefully he'll understand where he is now and where he needs to be... starting with correct names if a decent basic idea :-P.

However, if the majority of people in the industry (not your neighborhood, the industry in general) need to ask 'Who are you?'... you've got your answer why it's not going to be on your resume.

    Awesome way to put it.

The MVPs don't know the selection criteria either. It's kept secret. If people knew, they'd game the system, so better that it's not disclosed.

Good luck! (I have to admit that I'm somewhat jealous.)

Many thanks Wayne, Kiara, Jeff and all those who wished me good luck.

I hope to find some contracts soon.

If you don't hear from me any more it means that I'm either incredibly busy with a contract or I don't have enough money to pay for the ADSL. 😛
