Are the posted questions getting worse?

Major kudos to the Win 7 developers. Replaced the motherboard, processor and memory of my desktop and when I switched it on, windows booted straight to the desktop, no errors, no repair, no problems at all.

This thing flies. I have a 3D rendering tool running at the moment and it's having no impact at all.

    Sweet box you got :smooooth:

In other news... Anyone willing to read over an article on recovery models and make sure I haven't made any grievous errors?

I'm currently on holiday, so I cannot promise to be able to double check it this week.

If that's no problem, I'd be happy to help. ( sql2005 dev edtn / SQL2008R2 dev edtn on my laptop )

There's nothing to replace Word's review features anywhere. Need a PC for that, or a Mac/Fusions.

I am tempted to get a real keyboard for writing on the iPad, that or give the Asus Transformer that Grant was carrying recently. That was pretty cool, with a battery in teh keyboard.

Not entirely true. Google Docs has a very decent version of markup on documents, so - it might not be 100% of Word's version of it, but it's plenty in most cases.

My wife has been using a Galaxy TAb for about a month, and it's very slick there too. Angry Birds is her new time sink thanks to the tablet.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Ok... now I'm feeling like quite the moron and I'm totally embarrassed for having missed it. Please forgive my oversight. I was certainly impressed and very touched ("overwhelmed by the thought" would be more accurate) by the fact that someone would take the time to "doctor" up a poster in such a fine fashion for me, but I didn't think of actually clicking on it. After doing so, I've found a new definition for the word "overwhelmed."

Gianluca, thank you for the wonderful gift. Mere words cannot express my gratitude for having had the opportunity to know and work with you.

Oh, come on! We all know you deserve it, so, please stop being embarassed!

And do yourself a favour: please don't hire me as press agent. I'm horrible at that.

I was just lucky with the poster, as I could cut'n'paste other letters to form your name. Had it been for "Rudolph B. Moden", it would have looked waaaay different! 😛

At the moment, Witcher (1), Anno 1404, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Mass Effect 2 on XBox. Have Dragon Age 1 waiting (yes, I'm behind). Heaven knows what I'm going to do end of this year. Skyrim and The Old Republic. Starcraft 2 part 2 soon...

Need a vacation just to catch up on games....

*chuckle* You aren't the only one. I *finally* got started on Dragon Age: Origins a week ago. And at the rate that I find myself having time for it, I'm guessing it's going to be at least a year before I finish it...

Games, what are those? I have done any serious gaming in about 10 years. That's when my second child was born. No time or money for gaming and would prefer my kids get outside than play so we don't have any gaming consoles.

I finally got around buying Batman Arkham Asylum three months ago.

I think I have played around 5 hours since. The last time was 2 months ago. :S

I do very little productive on the phone. It's great for shopping lists, much reduces the chance I'll write a list and leave it at home. Twitter on the move, some casual games, a book or two (for when stuck somewhere unexpected) but that's about it. I can't write at any speed on that, even with swype, I'd hate to think about spreadsheets or the like.

Major graphics apps on a phone? Any serious graphic designer's going to laugh at that. They tend to work with massive screens, not pocket-sized ones. I couldn't imagine doing any photoshop work on something that fits into a bag, much less a pocket.

If I want to work away from my desktop then, depending one what I'm likely to be doing, I'll pack iPad or laptop. iPad for writing, reading, annotating pdfs, laptop for anything more demanding.

I'd kill for full-blown MS word or Windows Live Writer on the iPad, that would eliminate a fair bit of need for the laptop, but it's still no way a replacement for my desktop PC, and that's not just in terms of apps, also shear power, storage capacity and screen size

That's a good water-cooler topics, what games do you play on your phone? I haven't found much that's really kept my attention for more than a month or so.

I spend more time than is healthy on RoboDefense.
