lol y'all are nuts. I haven't checked in on this thread for a while, last time it was actually related (more or less) to the title, now I come back and jump to the end to see what the discussion is, to find out that:1) car accidents suck
2) Lynn and Grant are old farts
3) Jack's in the middle somewhere and
4) Gail's a young'un
:hehe:
ah well, guess I'll go post a lousy question somewhere to keep you going...
So, having noticed items 2 through 4, where do you fall?? Also, I may be an old fart, but I can keep up with high school students on the soccer field!

Why did this thread start?
I feel old until I read some of these posts.
Been driving on four wheels for 26 years, 25 cars in that time, if you include the wife/son's cars. 4 accidents, 3 not my fault. Only one that was happened when I was 16. Got t-boned in my Suburban by an Expedition and had some kid on the highway at night decide he could change lanes into my rental van without looking first. Had a baby and wife in the car and got to ride the ditch in the median for a few hundred yards.
I think Gail's on the Kalen track of working entirely too much. Guess that's why she goes to throw people around on the mat at night. π

Having seen some of the BS which Gail's patiently dealt with on the forum in the last few weeks, I'm not at all surprised.

Been driving a car for 15 years, no real accidents, couple fender-benders. Rode a motorcycle for two weeks and wrecked it. By myself. Hit a ... mental block ... because I was reading about counter-steering and overthought what I already knew how to do.
And I probably couldn't keep up with anybody but the goalie on a soccer field at the moment, so that makes me a 'young fart' π

I think it started as a rant about some of the recent posts that have found thier way on to SSC. From there it drifted off as community threads sometimes do. You could say this thread has morphed into the "water cooler" thread. We talk about about what ever comes to our minds at the time. One of the things I really love about this site.
I think things like this help us bond and form relationships we might not otherwise make. It's also what sets SSC apart from the other sites, making it (IMHO) the best on the web.

I hope no one was hurt, but you got to admit that the timing is funny.
