Hey, Steve (and other Prius owners), I just heard about this and wanted to pass it along:Toyota says a problem with electric power steering is prompting a recall of about 52,000 Priuses from 2001-3 in the United States, part of a global action affecting 106,000 vehicles.
Tx, I'm 2007, and I typically get these in the mail. I've had two: floor mats, waste of time, and headlight issue. Still haven't fixed, not sure it's an issue for me.
2001-2003 now? That's quite a bit later. How long to recalls apply?
As long as they can be sued for it, to be brutally honest.
Edit: Should be: As long as they can be sued for it, for more than the cost of the recall.

The best part is that your posts are not useless point-getting restatements. Grrrr, I hate those. You mean the parrot effect? Someone posts a solution and suddenly three or so other people post exactly the same solution. Amazing how multiple people suddenly come up with the same idea at the same time... </sarcasm>
Like when somebody posts the same solution you did - only 10+ minutes later. Polly want a cracker?
LOL - I *delete* before posting more often than I actually post, because I started writing an answer, went back to work for a bit, got back to my answer, and found one or more replies already there that were basically what I was already writing...

The biggest surprise for me was when I had to have a headlight replaced. I went in to the dealership expecting the typical $20 (On other cars I replace them myself) and they said $300! It has been reduced to $150, but still. That's one thing I have to check when I go look at the 2012s later this year.

Toyotas use some crazy bulbs. Very annoying. One of my turn signal lights was like $60.

Our alphabet soup friend gives weird recommendations on LinkedINI'm starting to think he downloaded his certs from the pirate bay. ๐
Is that our |MCITP|OCP|OCE|SCJP|IBMCDB| friend?
I just discovered the LinkedIn SQLServer group, and the first discussion I saw had me close to responding in flame mode.

Yup, that's him (and maybe you noticed that his cert list expanded recently)

Just an FYI, those of you that posted in the "real world financial problem", I whacked the thread. No replies or discussion seemed to be of use to the site in there.
My apologies for those of you that wasted your time.

Probably for the best.
I wonder how many of those comments he would have made if talking to someone face-to-face...

Plenty, at least until you threw him across the room.
Sent an email, got a less than professional reply, refusing to admit that he was in any way less than professional. Declined to continue the conversation as he said he would move on to another site.

I dunno. It's easy to forget there's a real person on the other end of the discussion and say things that you'd never dream of saying in person.
