Gail: Wow....
Lynn: Good luck, because merit doesn't always triumph in this crazy world
Jason: The "Today" show carried footage of a naked jogger today, and I immediately thought of you. But it turned out to just be some wannabe from Kansas.
Everybody: I've given the matter considerable thought, and have conclusively concluded that the posted questions are indeed getting worse. That said, there is no reason to continue this thread. Stick a fork in it. It's done. Call in the dogs and put out the fire. Turn out the lights, lock the doors, it's over. It's been nice knowing you all. Just step away from the water cooler and nobody gets hurt. Return to your cubicles or the guards have been authorized to fire on the crowd with rubber bullets. :w00t:

I saw the big bowl of alphabet soup get added onto Gus' signature and figured this would be the place to figure out what led up to it. Only had to read 3 pages back to find the change point! I'm still waiting to see Gail's list one day. =)If you insist...
Are those just the current ones? Shame you put it in your sig, when you change it the historical record will go away. (Sorry, I'm a nerdy historian-type mixed with packrat genes, I like being able to go back and check things) : -)

Is that all of the posted questions, a weighted average or a statistical sampling? Can we see your methodology? What is your criteria for "better", "the same" and "worse"? Are those the categories? At what rate are they getting worse and on what scale?
Wow, it is easy to get carried away with that kind of questioning.

Well I can't exactly put in ones that I don't have yet. 🙂
It's all the certs and qualifications I have, including expired certs (expired != invalid)

Oh sure, I don't know how long you've been getting them and thought you might have left off some 2000 certs. Don't get me wrong, it is quite the list!

Heh. I'm surprised at 2 things.
1. They all fit on one line (On my screen anyways).
2. I actually know what they all are!
Very nice list though.
Is it bad that as soon as I see "MVP" I prettymuch immediately forget about all the others? Perhaps I put too much emphasis on the title... but I think it carries a ton of weight. That and MCM are both prettymuch instant-credibility even if I know nothing else about the person. (I know they're very different)

Bob - this is an old thread and is no longer about the original topic. <poke>
Someone should start a thread called The Watercooler and we all switch to that. But then again, it wouldn't have the charm that this thread has.

Had a phone interview Thursday morning with Microsoft. It seemed to go pretty good. We'll know how good if the fly me up to Redmond for a full day interview. On the other side, I may have another opportunity closer to home as I got an email late Thursday from a recruiter. Fingers crossed, I may actually leave the Dark Side. I really miss working with SQL Server and more importantly, I really miss the SQL Server community.
Good luck

I wish you the best of luck in whichever way these opportunities for you unfold.
Heck with "luck". Best of merit, Lynn! And best of perception on the part of the interviewer. That's better than luck any day! 🙂
Should we open a Connect item, "Please hire Lynn Pettis"?
That just may work
