Also, I will start to participate on the site more often. It has always been useful and seems to be very helpful and friendly.

What else can we ask for?

I just stumbled onto the thread. You may have created another SSC Addict. Very nice feedback from all perspectives!

There will be a pop quiz on The Thread for all newly arrived members, tomorrow. You will be expected to recite all posts in it verbatim.

Either that or welcome aboard, and ignore the ramblings you want to ignore and participate in the ones you like. ๐Ÿ™‚

...which I never really heard how it was officially used in that presentation at SQL Rally? Is that recorded somewhere?

I don't care about the rest of the presentation, I heard that Grant doesn't know anything.

The only thing of worth from that presentation would have been the DBCC Timewarp (jk)

  • I like how Grant references 'The Thread' in his forward in one of his books. I stumbled on it in the bookstore and was cracking up. Yes, I exploit paperbackbook stores to browse and 'sample' more of a book besides the 1st chapt. Then, right in their store, sitting on one of their chairs in that comfortable Texas A/C, I buy the ebook version on my iPad. Sucka! I feel responsible for Borders closing a ton of stores. Wait. No I don't. THEY didn't do anything about the ebook movement. Sucka!

Now, if only ebooks would allow us a '3h full sample' rather than giving the introductory initial chapter for free. The first chapter is not a 'gift for free', its rarely worth anything anyway; especially for a tech book. I like to skip around to see if the book author knows anything or not. <poke>

Or just "of the Thread" and let people make up their own minds.

So, who else will be coming to SQL Saturday #75? I'm going to need to figure out how to hook up with you guys with an ancient, Twitter-impaired phone. (which is also not accepting voicemails right now, but that's a different story. Makes it hard to get callbacks from fence/deck contractors though)

I submitted a session but it wasn't one of the ones selected. Actually, it turns out to be a bit of a relief for me and took it one step further by un-registering.

________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
