Oh Boy! Double Posted Interview Questions that OP couldn't answer, here, and hereReally makes you want to jump right and help, don't it? π
I read the post(s), but I have to say, I don't know the answers to the log shipping ones because I've never used log shipping. Of course that would be my answer to that question along with, I'd look it up in BOL and google it.

I had to laugh at the person who asked if he got the job.

I hope for the company that he did not. If the OP had showed some interest in reading up on the links provided, I wouldnt mind if he got the Junior DBA position. But since he does not even think he has to take initiative and read the BOL, I would be against it.

Steve,
I like the New Link button in the toolbar. It makes including a link as a link much easier. Was that just added today or have I just been missing it for awhile?

The url one has been there for a while, if that's what you mean. Definitely handy, no doubt.

When you post a reply, there's a button with a green round icon and a link chain. That button posts up a javascript window to input the url to link to and then generate the tags to do it.
AFAIK, it's been there for a while!.

I'm torn here. I wouldn't be surprised if he got the job since most candidates can't answer those questions. At least not from the stories I hear.
So do we teach people here? Or push them to get better? Or push them away and say you're not qualified" and you need to go learn more.
The state of DBAs is pretty poor, and some of that is how well SQL just runs in many cases. It's also why a few of you have gainful employment because the last knucklehead set you up to be a god because he/she couldn't spell "index"

Great, I don't know how I missed it. I've been using IFCode shortcut for urls, but the link button is easier.
Good thing I'm here to learn.;)

We teach people here. We push people to get better. Those two I am a living example. I was taught quite a few things and I am being pushed to learn more when I try to find an answer for a question someone posted.
I really dont think we push people away. We try to teach them. Now it is upto the person to learn. I think this site has some really patient Posters.
