How many of you would walk out on a job without completing it (as a contractor/consultant) - if you were getting paid?

As with most SQL questions - it depends π

What do you mean by "walk out on" and "without completing"?
By "walk out" do you mean no notice? Or give notice before the contract is over?
By "without completing" do you mean the length of the contract, the work on the contract or the primary job you were hired for even though there's still things they're finding for you to do?

When you encounter a problem, if the solution isn't readily evident go back to the start and check your assumptions.

I can't answer that without more information about the situation. I've actually done this in my consulting days when I ran into an unethical situation. But that type of thing is pretty rare. What type of circumstances are you dealing with?

Leave the contract early without notice and prior to completing the stated work.

No violation of business ethics - and the contractor walked out on me. He stated that he was "not interested in completing the job"

Never (short of illegal practices by the company)
Even the client from hell, I would finish up, document, hand over then leave. To do otherwise is foolish. A consultant's reputation is so important.

What does his contract require? Solo or contracting house?

Exactly what I was thinking. I am debating how to handle the situation now.

Um, wow.
Nope. Wouldn't ever handle a situation like that. Ugh.
