I remember watching both The Monkeys and Original Star Trek as a kid, but they were both in reruns at that point. And I think they were for Brandie too. Starblazers was on around the time those reruns were playing.Starblazers was on when I was much older. My Dad would wake me up three hours before it was time to go to school (when he got up to get ready for work) because I wanted to watch that show so bad. And this was way before recording devices. @=)
According to my Mom, my memories of The Monkeys were during the original broadcast. She said it was the only time us kids would stay still. @=)
I don't think we had our first VCR until the 80s. Top load! Remote control connected by a wire.
Ditto. That wire was a pain.

Never heard of G-Force other than the Disney Guinea Pig movie.I heard Disney was doing G-Force and got all excited.
Then I found out it was about guinea pigs and I was like "WHAT?" It broke my heart. I never did go see it because of that.
My kids like the Disney movie and it is enjoyable.
Don't know about the cartoon from the 70's though. Too hard to go back and watch some of those shows (e.g. knightrider) because they are so hokey.

I couldn't remember the name, so it didn't mean anything to me. I tried to describe it to my son one time and he thought it was cool. Now I have something to show him on YouTube ๐

I remember Star Trek Original though.
I remember ST original. Isn't that on TVLand now?
That's the thing.
I remember watching both The Monkeys and Original Star Trek as a kid, but they were both in reruns at that point. And I think they were for Brandie too. Starblazers was on around the time those reruns were playing.
Original shows for me
Of course, I also remember watching Get Smart, McHales's Navy, Sgt. Bilko, Gilligan's Island, Life of Riley, Car 54, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeanie, etc... but that was all reruns when I was a kid.
Are you sure that Gilligan's Island wasn't in reruns then?
The shows that more accurately date me are the ones I watched in First Run: WKRP, Taxi, M*A*S*H, Magnum PI, Rockford Files, Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days, etc...

Never had a wire on a remote for that. On the other hand, our first VCR (and our Laser Disk Player) were both voice activated. "Gus, go push play", "Gus, rewind it a little bit". Amazing how good the voice recognition technology was in that system.

The best part of that was you never had to thump the TV/VCR to get it to work. You just undid your belt and the remote was flying to do your bidding.

Yes - back then, we watched the weekly originals.

I remember watching The Outer Limits on the small black and white TV.
And occasionally we had to clean the tuner, or go to the hardware store with several of the vacuum tubes and test them.
Imagine cars without seat belts....much less airbags.
And $2.00 worth of gas was hard to get into the gas tank.
