Hi everyone. Just to confirm it officially: I am now a SQL Server MVP

I'll echo all the other sentiments... Congrats Paul, well deserved IMHO.

I seriously can't believe Celko did this: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1087228-61-1.aspx

I'm seriously hoping it's followed up with "April Fools!" or something. Just, wow, if not.

Why is that link leading me to a YouTube video?

    EDIT: Doh. Nevermind.

Roy, I hope you're feeling better.

Gail, if they don't help you out with your car, I suggest you sic your pet gila monster on them. I'm sure it's hungry by now. @=)

I'm just glad it's over. All that crap is out of my basement. Yay!

So, whose more glad about that... you or your family?

Oh, the wife is pretty pleased too.

Darn my addled jet-lagged brain - I forgot to mention how great it was to meet Jack Corbett and have a couple of good long chats with him. I really enjoyed his session, and he helped me out a lot. Thanks, Jack!

Ditto. It's the best part of being in the speaker room, all the people you know come by at some point or another. Then you get to chat. It's always good seeing someone from SSC.

  • Thanks for the well wishes... I saw the Doc and he told me that I am just shaken up. he gave me a muscle relaxant and on Saturday I was good as new 🙂 . Today I have to go to the insurance and get everything sorted out to get my car fixed.

  • Jeff, I have been having some bad time with accidents during the past one and a half years. One car was totaled and bought this new one. This is the third accident in this new car. Not even one of them was my mistake. They all seem to target me and crash into me. I think it is time to sell this car or stop driving a car. 🙁

Heh... perhaps you should remove the targets you painted on its fenders. 😀

I have a ritual I do when I do eventually buy a new truck. I find an inconsipicuous spot on the body of the thruck and I scratch it with a key to let the other "scratch monsters" in the world know that it's not new anymore and they can stay away. Then I grab two shots of good scotch... one for me and one for the car. I poor one scotch over the scratch mark I made as I down the other one. 😛

Well, it isn't like I told people it was my birthday.

Since when did you stop wearing a crown on your birthday ? :hehe:

I've seen men wearing kilts at SQL events, a crown would fit in well :w00t:
