So, just had a thought, trying to figure out if it's a good one or not. Camcorder that records 1080p straight to the cloud? Unlimited (assuming unlimited pocketbook) video storage?
And is completely useless if you don't have a broadband uplink available when you'd like to shoot a video.
And for the buffering idea, what's the difference between that and plugging existing cameras into a fixed-location connection between shoots?

Kiara, happens to me all the time. That's why I like hanging out with people smarter than me (and Alvin), some of it rubs off. 😀And no Alvin to respond?
Trying to goad him into talking, haven't seen him for a bit. 😀
Yeah he has been extremely quiet.
Sorry folks, I was hibernating 😎

Great... so you wake up, see your beard, go back inside, and we get another two weeks' worth of cold weather. 😀

Nope, would love to do that cruise, can't do do the cruise, can't manage another US trip so soon after the last, especially considering I have travel planned for June too.

Sadly, my typical SQL day feels like I'm on the final level of DOOM in "I have a Death Wish" mode.
Only I can't take a chainsaw into the .Net developer meetings.

I'm going, but I'm working. I'll be doing a presentation as well as representing Red Gate (one of the sponsors) on the cruise.

Does YEARS count? If so, yes - at least the technical side of it. Now I have to deal with the human and political side in order to get the technical solution rolled out...
Oh. We were talking about SQL... I'll just go back over here to my corner now... 😉

Here's something a bit different. I know some of you deal with JDE and AS400, and not just English.
Does anyone have any experience with Japanese / Chinese double byte?
The only thing loosely related to this is we use a product Showcase Query to go retrieve data.
This is off JDE on an AS400 box, with Win XP and W7 clients.
Seems we can't quite get the right combination to get the DBCS to show up correctly.
And we haven't found the right person between Oracle and IBM that can point us to getting it all lined up correctly.

With buffering it would send what it could to the cloud wirelessly whenever it could. Out in the wilderness wiht no signal? All buffered. Get to a place with 3 or 4 G? Starts to send what it can as packets. Find a place with WiFi or someplace to plug in? Send up the rest. If it sends what it can whenever it can, you can keep using the camera and don't have to set it aside while it uploads the whole thing.
