Are the posted questions getting worse?

It'll be my pleasure to take a gander and maybe run some code, Craig. Lemme know. Actually, you could do the same for me soon and if you have the time. If you don't have the time, that's ok, too. I'll just force you to watch 8 hours of Grant dancing in a kilt on a table top with the sun at his back. 😛

And I'll bring the short kilt for that one.

You wouldn't happen to have the Prince Charlie jacket and set up, would you?

No, but I suppos we can build up a request list and customize the video. It should help to make it especially evil. Jeff might put away the pork chop launcher and begin using the ultimate weapon.

Interesting... I only recognize the names of five of the speakers - and I've never met any of them (yet!).

Several topics look very interesting ... however, LiveMeeting is blocked at work, so I won't be able to see them. Does anyone know if we'll be able to download them later on?

...It's about that MAX()/CrossApply()/Row_Number() bit we were batting around about a month ago.

Was this a thread on SSC? Do you have a link?

It was and I don't offhand, sorry Paul. It was really just conversation on which is faster when and it's become something of a side project for me figuring out when they are according to different data densities. It's for when you want to find the last date of an item in a logfile, for example, or you want to pull the last available data as of a specific timestamp.

I had thought I'd delved into the optimizer before, but this is taking me to far flung planets in mystical galaxies. Okay, not quite that bad, but I'm unlearning some assumptions and learning new methods with a massive benchmarking test bed I've built. This is all to the good, and part of why I haven't posted much about it before. I don't like showing my dirty laundry until either I'm in the ambulence or it's as clean as I can get it without help. 😀

I'll give everyone the short form and a teaser: There's no clear winner across the boards yet, but I'm still building up the 'real world' test case, which I think will make an outright liar out of that last statement.

😎 Now, there's a compliment... a rough draft gets that kind of commentary, I can't wait to see what it'll look like once I've cleaned it up with all the help I'm getting and Steve does his final magic once over to help me kill off my wandering rambling.

Streaming, not download. Something an issue with but PASS doesn't seem to be willing to change

Darn. Yours was one I'd really like to see! (The title alone intrigues me - sure wish I could come up with something witty like that for mine!)

I can't watch the recorded videos via streaming because of crap internet connection, I doubt you have the same problem though.
