Just send him money! If he gets enough he may feel guilty and decide he has to write a book.

    An excellent suggestion. πŸ™‚

I'm not going to flood The Thread with thank you messages to everyone, but seriously, thanks all - I'm never sure how these things are going to be received until they are 'out there', so I really do appreciate the encouragement.

Here's some money from my end of the world:

Edit: Will you other folks please take your hands off that money?!?!?

    It's for Pauls book!

But... but... it's *pretty*! I just wanted to look at it... really! We have such *boring* money over here in the States...

    That's only 1/2 copied. I think you've got a very 1-sided argument.

  • Every once in a while, I am reminded by circumstances to thank everyone here and out there anywhere who takes the time to help others out in their professional capacity. Your willingness to share knowledge and help us all bootstrap our abilities is truly amazing and inspiring.

Because of what you do, and what it has inspired me to do in my humble capacity, I am being recognized and rewarded at work, which was never my intent (seeking kudos), but is simply a side-effect of working to be more useful to others.

    THANK YOU!!! πŸ˜€

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

I'm hoping to read it in full tonight (I'm moving and packing has taken up much of my time. I've only read the intro so far). I just went to a presentation on parallelism by Adam Mechanic and I look forward to seeing how the article compares. I'm betting it'll cast a sharper light on some aspects just by being another view.

I have been lucky enough to work with Adam on some parallelism projects (including a small contribution to his post-con session at PASS) and he kindly agreed to technically review my article, so I'll be interested to see what you think.

I've been helping someone very, very patiently with a SSIS connection problem, which essentially boiled down to a SQL Server Agent permission issue.

He has now however some questions about creating credentials/proxies using a remote login, and my lack of knowledge on that part stops me from helping him. Anyone want to chip in?
