    Great job, Paul! Outstanding, as usual.

    Now there's a chance that a poor n00b like me can understand parallel execution.

    Gianluca. n00b? Seriously?! No way!

    Haven't had time to read the whole thing yet, but it looks good so far.

    If Gianluca considers himself a n00b :ermm: then what's less than a n00b so that I can put it on my resume πŸ˜€

    Isn't that a nb? (not bothering)

    And lower than that would be the ad (actively disruptive)

    But something tells me neither of those would be applicable to anyone here.

    You can still be a n00b. We'll just shift the formula a little.

    SELECT Gianluca = (n00b + 1);

    EDIT: Stefan, I love your answers. They're brilliant!

    Good lord Paul, they get better and better. You have an enviable skill, like Jeff M, at making the arcane accessible and understandable for us mere mortals.

    Two questions:

    1. When I can pre-order your book?

    2. When do you start working for sqlskills.com?

    Man, this is some absolutely awesome stuff - and you have quite the knack for explaining it to us mere mortals in a manner where we can understand it! Keep it up!

    Just send him money! If he gets enough he may feel guilty and decide he has to write a book.

    I'm not going to flood The Thread with thank you messages to everyone, but seriously, thanks all - I'm never sure how these things are going to be received until they are 'out there', so I really do appreciate the encouragement.

    I'm hoping to read it in full tonight (I'm moving and packing has taken up much of my time. I've only read the intro so far). I just went to a presentation on parallelism by Adam Mechanic and I look forward to seeing how the article compares. I'm betting it'll cast a sharper light on some aspects just by being another view.

    Edit: Will you other folks please take your hands off that money?!?!?
