Are the posted questions getting worse?

I had the pleasure of Mr. Moden's company at dinner for a couple hours tonight at SQL Saturday #60. If any of you find yourself in the same town as him, you might try to do the same.

I also got to meet Mr. Bitbucket, and spend a few minutes talking with him. Hopefully i'll get a few more tomorrow.

The pleasure was all mine, Steve, and finally getting to meet BitBucket and a couple of other good folks was a delight, as well.

I finally got to see your presentation on the "Modern Resume" and Grant's presentation on tuning. Very well done to you both.

  • I'm sorry I missed Friday night. I would have loved to have hung out with you guys. Jeff's fun when you get him going. SQL Saturday in Cleveland was a great event. I really like Steve's Modern Resume presentation. If you can catch it, you should.

The pleasure of speaking to the two of you and others was was great, and is something that I will NOT soon forget. To Steve, Jeff and Grant (who due to bad weather flight cancelations, struggled to make it to SQL SAT #60) may I express my sincere thanks. I managed to attend your sessions and all 3 were educational and should not be missed by others who have the opportunity to attend at future events.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

  • 2 weeks and 2 days to go. Sooo looking forward to first SQL Sat and to MVP summit.

    You were sorely missed, Grant.

It's good to finally have met the infamous "Unit 0". I had a great time talking with you. Thanks for the great job you and the others did putting together and excellent SQL Saturday.

And I fully expect the same will be true of your presentation in Florida based upon the excerpt we got on Saturday (pity there's no way my company sends us to conferences like that, and even if they did, I would be low on the seniority pole). I wish that I had had a seminar like that 10 years ago when I was starting out.

I got to share Steve's sentiment on Saturday night when my coworker and I got to have dinner with Mr. Moden. He's not at all in person like I imagined, but no disappointment whatsoever as he is a great conversationalist. I hope to see you, Jeff, in Columbus for our next SQLSaturday and I WILL go to your presentation that time.

Also excellent for me were the discussions on waits with Thomas LaRock and Kendra's presentation on table partitioning. Great series of classes.

As for karaoke -- the less said the better. 15 DBAs doing Bohemian Rhapsody was too much.

  • Thanks, everyone, and SQL Saturday #60 was great. I enjoyed Jeff's session, and conversation. Ron (bitbucket) made the hotel deals and helped ensure the event ran very smoothly, and gave me some great feedback on my session.

Cleveland in Feb wasn't great weather, but Allen White, Erin Stellato, Bitucket and others made it a fun weekend.

Not sure why Jeff or Ron weren't at the Sunday morning run, but I'm sure they'll be at the next one :-P:hehe:
