For anyone following the earlier infringment discussion, some sleuthing around SSC finally revealed the blog owner. A brief PM conversation seems to have dealed with that issue.Happy New Year! Gods, New Years is a mixed blessing for me. It's also my birthday. This last one was a biggie to me. 35 years old. I expected to be somewhere else at this point in my life. *cracks knuckles* I'z got wurkz ta due.
Happy birthday.

Glad you found out the owner and go the issue solved.
Happy New Year and Birthday to you as well. I just wish I was 35 again so I could get to where I want to be by 40! Oh wait, first you have to know where you want to be.:w00t:

FYI, Jason, if I see you parading around in a slinky peek-a-boo like dress, I'm leaving this forum and burying my head in the sand for the rest of my existence.

Heheh, I feel you on that. However, I figured out where I want to be. It's just incredibly ambitious, so I'm loathe to mention it until I'm solidly on my way. My objective is one year, but it will probably take two or three. At some point, I'm going to get lazy and life's going to get in the way a few times.
Oh, and regarding the president bit, I've actually mentally daydreamed about that off and on. Unfortunately I don't think anyone wants to actually vote for the 'End of sunshine party'.
"What's your party's stand, Mr. Nominee?" "I want the American People to stop bending over and letting the politicians blow sunshine up their ***."

Quick question for those on LinkedIn. I just received a message over the past two days (two messages actually) asking for advice on performance tuning tools. The messages are so generic that I'm trying to figure out if I know this person or not.
When I google the name, I get all sorts of strange hits. I can't log into LI at the moment to check the profile.
Has anyone else received messages from a Swathi V?

There are several "Swathi V"s on various flavors of LinkedIn. UK has one, India has one, US has one. Might be more.

I don't recall having received any messages from this particular person. Could it be someone you had in a SQLSaturday session? I list my LinkedIn info during sessions, but I always ask them to mention that they met me at SQLSaturday #N so I'll know who they are.
I normally don't reply unless I can figure out who the person is. Right to the trash bin.

I reply that I charge a couple of hundred dollars per hour for consultant work, or they can post the question on SSC and get answers for free. Might not be me that answers, but someone usually will. Could be someone more competent than me, could be me, could be someone less competent. Ya gets what ya pays fer. That's how I handle most private requests for DBA advice/work. Well, except from personal friends (including those already conquered by The Thread), or my wife. Those I answer.

Nah. What we have goes WAY beyond that.
